No, they don’t have “every right” to video anything and everything they want, not even from public spaces.
If they were caught videoing a well known bridge like the Brooklyn bridge or the Golden Gate bridge, they could be either arrested and/or held for questioning for such activity as suspected terrorists.

Again with the liberal moronic statements defending this creep’s “filming” and “right” to canvass a Jewish girls’ school for FORTY minutes! The “blogger” should be extensively investigated as to why he was so interested in “filming” all the entrances and alleyways surrounding a Jewish school, in a non-descript area. All his “friends” need to be questioned, as well. The notion that the school’s layout, was to be posted on the web, for every nut to see, should scare every one of us!. This must be taken very seriously! This could and maybe should have been handled differently. However, the SO… Read more »

Wow! I am not one known to give out accolades in a wholesale fashion, however, this is truly deserving of the highest merits and commendations. Spoken like a true professional, with pretty much all of the check boxes (which can be tended to in a public forum) marked off. Albiet that I have never personally evaluated the security apparatus of the sites for which the author is responsible, however, judging from the informal advice set fort, I would venture to say that Fort Knox is facing some serious competition. Keep up the great work!

The person had every right to film, and neither the guard nor the police had any right to interfere with her.

"Information gathering"
February 24, 2019 3:57 pm

Information gathering may be a basic pre-attack strategy of school shooters and terrorists, but it’s also a basic human right, which nobody — including the police — has any right to interfere with. Even if the guard had called the police, there’s nothing they could have done to stop this person recording what she could see and hear on a public sidewalk. She did not have to justify herself to anyone.

Mezuzahs in schools

Another suggestion – every child in his class should bring in a few dollsrs to pay for checking the mezuzah on his class door.
Mezuzuas in all areas of the school should be checked to
ensure that everything is in order with the mezuzahs.

The so called “blogger” was instigating this incident. But thank you very much Mr. Myer-Smith for your informative and interesting information. There should be school staff and or parent backups involved with or connected to security guards and available, especially in case of emergency. Insurance protection might also be a good idea in environments increasingly overly tolerant of agitators or inciters. ( e.g. as those linked with radical causes or groups)!
