Used To Be Scared, Now Petrified

MicDrop: Chana Wasserman, founder of CW Designs in Miami, says she’s a Wonder Woman - one who is also scared.

Chana Wasserman of Miami, Florida, founder of CW Designs, took the stage to tell the world that she is a Wonder Woman - one who is scared, sometimes, or all the time.

Wasserman spoke at an event on Thursday, "Wonder Woman - Series of Stories from the Superherione Next Door," by MicDrop by Rosh Lowe.

Wonder Woman features 12 women who attended a preparation workshop with Rosh Lowe, a former TV news reporter who founded the MicDrop training and speaking service.

The second event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 9th, at the Ailey Citigroup Theatre at 405 West 55th Street in Manhattan.

A Vital Need !!!
This program is so refreshing and welcoming. Similar to NPR's Moth Radio Hour. My heart goes out to this speaker, her courageous words and her strong desire to redefine and embrace a new narrative is quite impressive. Not an easy thing to do, but so necessary. I hope there can be some positive resolution for this honest disclosure which has been suppressed too long in the frum communities and the local Rabbonim who regrettably wish to curtail this vital and safe outlet. To share with others not only is cathartic for the speaker but for the audience as well. It helps many by assuaging the isolation and shame that many of us are victim to, yet hide it well in order to appear "normal" to others but at what price? By continuing this charade for the sake of others, is to put one's mental and emotional health at risk. The thought of terminating this self-expression is tantamount to emotional suicide with harrowing consequences even for one person is one too many !!!

I understand mic drop now. This is a noble mission to empower people to not hide behind their challenges , and to share their stories. People need to hear this more.

such a great program
I would have loved to attend but the schlep out to the hall as well as the price discouraged me.
Why don't we have one of these nights here in CH at one of our local halls.
If the speakers are willing to share their stories for free maybe it can be a free event allowing us all to be truly inspired.
We could have a Mic Drop Crown Heights!

Hearing these things 20 years down the line can help mitigate the pain that person caused a child - we know now that they too were in pain.

Kol Hakavod to you, Chana! And I wish you continued strength, peace, and happiness in your life! I stand humbled by what you have dealt with, and what you have grown to become. Stories like yours help develop the understanding to appreciate every person as an individual world, and knowing that we have no idea what someone else might be going through. We have no idea where a person came from and dare not judge. We need to respect each other as precious souls, all part of the same Hashem! Chana is a giant dressed as an average person!

Your courage is incredible, that fact that u were able to get up in front of an audience and do what u did, shows the level of person u truly are. You have courage talent and great charisma. You have nothing to fear, you can take on anything.
