Students of Chabad Girls Academy put on their very first production this week. They acted out a well known story of the Baal Shem Tov titled “The Soul’s Return.”
A powerful and inspiring story, that tells of a chossid who was given the mission to tell stories of the Baal Shem Tov and how it ultimately led one Jew to do teshuva and lead a meaningful and righteous life.
The evening began with “thank you’s” followed by two students saying the Rebbe’s kapital.
During the performance the students sang, danced, and acted out the story with great energy and excitement. Their efforts really paid off as the they sang along beautifully with piano accompaniment by Mrs. Mirelle Rosenberger. The acting was superb and the girls were able to capture the hearts of the audience with their emotional performance. Their individual talents really stood out.
The audience was moved by the memorable performance and captivating story. One mother whose daughter was in the production commented, “This is one of my favorite Baal Shem Tov stories and it really moved me to tears!”
The girls worked really hard to capture the essence of the story, which is the true Ahavas Yisroel the Baal Shem Tov had for every single Jew. The evening was dedicated in memory of Chaya Mussia a”h bas Reb Moshe Halevy’s 19th Yahrzeit. Chayal’e Levy was known by all for her tremendous ahavas yisroel for others. Her legacy continues to live on today as the students of Chabad Girls Academy emulate her actions, earning ahavas yisroel awards each month in her memory.
One audience member commented, “I just want to tell you how much I enjoyed the show today! My heart was so warmed when I saw the large crowd, the happy students and staff and the beautiful talent. It was so beautiful! I was smiling the entire time.”
A student, Chanale N. shared, “I learned from the story that a Jew can always return no matter what and he can always do teshuva.”
Another student, Nechama A. said, “the production made a stronger connection between my friends and I and I got to know the other girls from other grades better.”
Vivi C. shared, “I can’t believe how many people came, the room was packed, it was amazing!”
Special thanks to The Rubashkins for hosting the event, Mrs. Mirelle Rosenberger for playing piano. Rivky Berkowitz, Rendy Kasowitz and Rochel Hildesheim for heading the production. Mrs. Yakovov for providing a photographer and Mr. Yossi Ghonmardi for transporting all of the props to the hall.
