Woman Struck Jews on Shabbos

Watch: Footage proves the account that a middle-aged black woman attacked Jews and scared a young boy this past Shabbos.

By COLlive reporter

A Jewish resident of Crown Heights came forward to report about yet another incident in which Jewish people were struck in the Crown Heights neighborhood in Brooklyn.

The man, who asked COLlive not to publicize his name, says the disturbance happened when he was walking to shul on President Street, between Kingston and Albany Avenue this past Shabbos day, at 11:00 AM.

He was walking with his 6-year-old son when a middle-aged black woman leaped into the boy's face and aggressively and violently clapped her hands in front of his face, and then "roared at him," succeeding in frightening him.

"That clap nearly slapped him and the roar terrified him," the father said. "I pushed her out of the way without hesitation. She started to approach my son again and throw her fists up and made a gesture as if to punch me, so I threw my fists up as well to defend myself. She then spit at me," the father said.

The man said that as he walked away with his boy, he heard a glass shattering behind him. "I saw two other Jewish men there and she hit one of the men and then started running towards the other Jewish man," he said.

The man said because his son was deeply frightened, they left the scene and didn't wait for police to file a report, although he says he would have in any other circumstance.

"There have been so many attacks recently, and this one happening in the heart of Crown Heights with the street full of people, in broad daylight. We can't live in denial anymore. We have all got to come forward and speak up," he said.

Not surprised
Iím sorry that this happened to you and your son!
Very upsetting yet unfortunately not surprising .
This neighborhood has become a place that requires securtity on every block . Night AND day .
COL - What can we as a community do to implement change ( meaning extra security) on our streets.?

Chaith
chaptzep again in the hood.
lets bring it back and forget shmira shomrim or 911 just beat the living daylights out of anyone who attacks us. that is the only language they understand. give them a taste of their own medicine.

more protection
we need more Police protection in c.h.
every block should have a Police presence.
there should also be cameras installed on every block.
what is the community Council doing about it? shamirah is good, however, they come to the rescue after the incident.
we need a good deterrent.

Where are the police?
If I leave my car parked on the wrong side of the street, in five minutes I will have a ticket on my windshield. Since they have perfected, with military like efficiency, parking rule enforcement, certainly if they had the will, they could control these unruly marauders, who believe, unfortunately rightly, that there are no consequences for their bad acts.

Why not check cameras of near houses and file a police report now ?
Sounds like the other story where a black woman scared and touched /pushed a young girl on the porch of the girls house . Donít know why not to report it ? And find the other 2 men that were there .... next time it will be more wild attack

CHJCC Must Divert Funds for Secrity
In the past few years, in CH, there have been a tremendous amount of housing built to warehouse the mentally ill, drug addicts and the homeless. CAMBA got $99 million dollars in NYS Grants for the "supportive housing development for homeless and mentally ill and/or drug addicted" on Albany and Winthrop. There is the recent Bridge Development for the mentally ill and homeless on ENY Ave next to KFC. There is a new homeless shelter on Rogers Ave. And there is the Salvation Army Homeless Shelter on Clarkson and Albany. These people walk around the neighborhood like zombies when they don't tale their meds. So your first group of threats to Jews are the mentally ill drug addicted homeless..

The second group of threats are the thugs in the neighborhood. The third threat are the anti-Israel individuals from the far left whose attacks are not assaults but harassment.

The problem is most people don't care about getting involved politically or sacrificing for the community, except a few brave soles from Shmira, Shomrim and one wonderful guy who runs a check cashing store in town.

The fact that the CHJCC, on their PUBLIC TAX return, has $1.5 million in expenses for weatherization for real estate landlords, and is not spending money on security cameras on every corner....or paying for security guards to walk the streets...Google NYS Charities and NYS Attorney General to see the tax returns.

Also the Jews on Community Board # 9 who are in commercial real estate or who themselves receive NYS funding should step down because they will not bite the hand that is feeding them. All NYS projects have to go before community board and must be approved by Senators Assembypersons or City Council people who often sell the community out because...the Jews in CH don't care that much about secular issues...

Newsflash - next to 680 Clarkson....they are planning to build moer "affordable housing" for the homeless and mentally ill, called "supportive housing"....

The CHJCC and your CHPAC should hold PUBLIC MEETINGS in different shuls, but they won't because people in power like to control others and not have their power diminished.

Very few Jews will speak out because of the political nature of jobs in the neighborhood and the fear of being ostracized by the powerful Machers who control CH.

It all starts with a PUBLIC MEETING by the CHJCC and elections because of out of control crime and its causes

Report
I believe you can file a report after the fact as well. And there are probably cameras also. Cameras have become a very reasonable price. People that know, please post info on those online camera services. They are quite reasonable, and have proven useful in these situations. Unfortunately, it doesn't prevent, but maybe with time, if people are caught, or know there are cameras around...

You can't rely on the police to protect you. It's dangerous and unrealistic to think that you can.
Only you can ensure your own safety. There is such a thing as justified violence. It's called self defense.

@#6
The CHJCC should invest in the local civilian Patrol, and should coordinate with them patrols in the community, NIGHTLY. They already have patrol cars, they have members who are willing, the CHJCC should take initiative, and provide support to these patrols, so they can continue there service to our community...

I agree with #2
The next time such an incident like this happens, one should knock the stuffing out of them without any hesitation and call the police once they're out on the floor. You're potentially saving other jewish people from harm and it seems like physical force is the only thing these escaped zoo animals understand.

leadership
our dedicated leadership spend night and day worrying about how to help anash and we should show them hakaros hatov and not attack them, they spend countless hours meeting elected officials to help our community. regarding cameras what good is it, if the person who attacked you is going to be deemed mentally ill and let out scot free.

I don't get it
I don't understand Jews in CH... half are saying how bad it is (duh), half are saying how we need more police, cameras, patrols etc...

How about don't rely on others to protect you. Only you are your best protector! This is a call to action

A Christmas Wish
All I want for Christmas is for Assistant Commissioner of NYS Homes and Community Renewl Colonel Jacob Goldstein to help get $ 1 million of NYS fund to go for crime prevention, just like how the real estate landlords are getting $1 million from CHJCC from NYS Homes and Community renewal under the weatherization program on their nys tax returnq

Not So Complicated.
It's Someone of the real estate people who are trying to drop the prices of the houses in crown heights are sending them. Or some one preparing to run for the next election and wants to say that the community council of before was no good is doing this, this is an inside job.
(12/4/2018 11:40:29 AM)

relax gosh!!!!!!
Can't you folks tell this is a case of mental illness.?

Some of these comments are so silly and backwards.

You know about mental illness? Ask someone that knows!

Stop making more then what it is.

Stay vigilante, yes, but stop the silly knee-jerk reactions.

#2 is correct
That is the one and only way be"H. This will call for a higher level of unity in our community. A united front, not relying on the police or the community council- the definition of insanity is trying the same thing that is not working again and again and assuming different results.

Please explain how one stays "vigilant"with someone who jumps out of nowhere...or attacks one from behind...or etc etc as we keep reading...
Your comments are just as silly

You guys - people in CR are nuts for not doing something drastic. If the community leaders the Vaad the spokes people of CH will only showe themselves when they kish zich on mit di officials. Then their all ambiguous and nothing worth. People of CH stand up for yourself. Donít be ah lemmele to these aggressors. Silly folks of the community please stand up for your self respect and your righteousness.

There is a way to stop all this very easy
Cameras help but police are too busy with murders. There is an easy way to get the attention of the press but more so the politicians. I donít know if colive will run this comment. Everyone in any leadership position in all jewish communities are afraid. They donít want to rock the boat. But here is a fast and easy way that all you big talkers who feel powerless can do something to put the crown heights situation on the map for serious solutions. Some of you think becoming vigilantes. That wont work because blacks are more streetwise than jews. We can respond with our strongpoints and of course itís not political connections because so many donít vote. So here is the idea. Put out flyers calling on all jewish owner bysinesses to boycott black workers and replace them with Mexicans or Chinese. Let the press get hold of it and every liberal jewish politician and black politician will get nervous. Crime will stop massively.

Consequences of Oversaturation of Mentally Ill / Homeless in CH
The above video is an example of the consequences of the oversaturation of mentally ill and homeless in CH.

One thing is clear - everyone has to vote, and understand the issues in the physical world.

The CHJCC does not want to Rock the Boat (@ Comment #28), because more then half of their budget benefits real estate interests..($ 1 million ) from NYSHCR and the real estate interests don't want to rock the boat with talk of demanding and bothering NYSHCR with more money for cops and cameras. No one will call out the elected officials who they are benefitting from, individually or as a non-for profit from NYS/NYC funding.

Just because the people who are attacking have mentel illness does NOT mean we need to be more tolerant of their behavior and let it happen. These attacks should NEVER be tolerated, if anyone can't control their anger/behavior they should be in a place were they are fully supervised, if they commit crimes they should be arrested and dealt with accordingly. Mental illness is a growing problem but allowing these people to act violently is NEVER ok.

Tasers
Antisemites feel empowered when they think Jews are helpless. A taser shot not only crumples them up on the ground, it also disillusions them of their sense of power over the defenseless.

Activism....Activism....Action
Guys , here is my take on the issue...I recently joined an organization called Act for America from Bridgit Gabriel, a pro Israel conservative activist ( she came and spoke at a ladyís event in CH a few years ago) she says the following: Guess how many people need to call an elected official so thinks can change? You thought 1000s right? Actually only 50 people are necessary....because think that every person is behind some sort of group representing 1000 voters so make the math: 50x 1000 = 50000 perceived by them...Iím tired of all this stuff in this neighborhood so I decided to do something about it rather than keep moaning...Iíll be calling the officials and if another 50 people do the same we can have some change.....President Trumps election proved that the establishment is dead and now , specially with the social media, Whatsapp , internet , grass roots movement are far more effective...maybe the community, instead of relying on the Askanim and or NYPD needs to take matters into their own hands and start speaking directly with the authorities.....Iím starting a WhatsApp group where Iíll give a list of phone numbers and emails of the NYPD people, Council members, etc.... if you want to ACT in the behalf of the community please email me at Josef18clarinet@gmail.com so I can add you to the group...
Itís time to take matters that are important to us into our hands!!

Okay, tough guys...
Not everyone in CH is physically able to beat up an attacker. Think about children, teens, girls, women, elderly men and women. Sure these thugs should get what's coming to them, but not all of this would be capable of doing it. I'm sick of hearing about corrupt Jewish landlords (that is what you're saying, isn't it?), and corrupt CHJCC (is it really?) and corrupt elected officials. If that's what they are, then the community should take action to change the situation. Because this is getting to be an emergency situation. Patrols who are not afraid to engage the troublemakers might be a big help.

PLEASE read at least the title of the article, and, preferably the whole article, before commenting!

Is there some kind of heter the beis din has issued, that is a big secret, for regular Yidden in Crown Heights to CARRY on Shabbos:

(as some of the above people are saying, as Monday Morning quarterbacks????)
I don't think so....

BP Eric Adams
BP Eric Adams only provides $2500 for CHJCC but gives CAMBA homeless shelter $1 million dollars to build on Albany Ave and Winthrop...

and hypocritically years ago ( 2012) said $1 million in surveillance cameras should go to CH and not Boro Park.....and then gives $1 million to CAMBA...and bubkis for the Jews on Kingston Ave....

Don't vote for BP Eric Adams unless he opens up his budget...its all about the Benjamins...

To 28 ...majority workers are mexicans here .... it will not work
Itís also racist discrimination..... But what really can help itís an education of all public schools here that Jews are normal guys , who works hard to support their families, who are same Americans as Blacks and have a past more suffering then slavery and for punching them or descriminate them or hate crime
All mental and homeless are really need to be under 24/7 supervision system of taking medications or be locked ...
