An early morning armed robbery and assault which occurred last week in Crown Heights was caught on surveillance camera.
The perpetrator is still being sought in connection with the robbery which took place at 4:30 am last Friday in the lobby of the apartment building at 701 Empire Boulevard between Albany and Troy Avenues.
Shmira volunteers and police spent hours obtaining footage and are working hard to identify the attacker.
In the footage, the attacker is seen approaching the 35-year-old Chassidic man from behind, and viciously punching and kicking the victim, throwing him to the ground.
The perpetrator fled on Empire Blvd towards Albany Avenue. He is then believed to have turned right onto Albany Avenue and then make a left onto Montgomery Street, towards Kingston Ave.
After hanging around for a few minutes, he made a u-turn and then went back onto Albany Ave towards Crown Street. He then turned left on Crown Street, and a few minutes later made a u-turn again and headed for Troy Ave.
The victim’s family is requesting residents in that vicinity to check their security cameras and to notify Shmira at 718-221-0303 if anything is noticed.

If you want to live safely either move upsatate or bring in a half million yuppies or Chinese around crown heights area as a buffer zone between the Jews and the blacks. If Instead of bowing down, to let the attaker control him, he will stand and punch him in his face showing that he s not scare, and know he will win the battle, i am sure, the attaker will get the idea!!! and will run away.

entered the lobby almost right after the victim. What was the need for the vicious assault if he just wanted to rob him. Looks like it might have been a hate crime attack as first and then as an afterthought robbery. The perpetrator appears to be well dressed, has a watch on and glasses. I wonder if robbery was the real motive or possibly just wanting to harm a Jew was?

Warning to all to be mindful of who is walking behind you and entering secure doors on your heels. Secure places are only as secure as their weakest link, which can easily be someone slipping in behind someone else who opened the door. Same applies to our shules and schools.
Was the victim able to give a description? How is the victim doing?
Needs to be caught and punished to the severest extent of law- and that needs to be publicized. That is the Only deterrent for these animals. Can not believe what I just saw, this is absolutely sickening to see. I really feel for that man that was vicously beaten. As the attacker was leaving he was somehow called back, I wonder what that was.
