Photographer Chaim Perl tells what it takes to get 2,100 Bais Rivkah students from 3 locations into one photo, all in less than an hour.
“I am proud to say, we did whatever it takes to include every student, from preschool through seminary,” Perl says.
This is the first time the school has done this in 20 years, Perl says.
“The photo was coordinated by Administrator Benji Stock and Program Coordinator Yossi Baumgarten, as well as extra-curricular coordinator Sarah Blau and a team of high school volunteers,” he says.
An added complication is the “location” of the photo.
“The school picture was taken in the school’s parking lot, and then Photoshopped in front of a photo of the school building,” Perl explains.

Lol. My mom started in Bais Rivkah in 1952 when she arrived in America. The classrooms were in the bedrooms and common rooms of a private home/apartment. There were perhaps 8 students in her class and it was two grades combined! She later worked in Bais Rivkah and now her great grandchild attends Bais Rivkah! Ka”h kein yirbu. May all be well…including the school!
