Anash, family and friends of Mrs. Rochel Heber OBM gathered in Crown Heights Sunday to dedicate a Torah in honor of her first Yartzeit.
Mrs. Heber was an exemplary and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, as well as a dedicated shadchan who made hundreds of shidduchim with patience and care.
The Siyum took place on Sunday, with the writing of the final letters taking place at her home on Montgomery Street, followed by a procession with music and dancing to Empire Shteibel.
Wow such a beautiful siyum so much simchas you should go mechayil el choyil
That mantel is so beautiful. befitting for a beautiful woman.Moshiach Now!
We met in our early elementary years in Bais Rivkah in the 50’s. And then we went to Bais Yaakov about the same time. We were always friends.
I have a file of letters that I saved all these years from our summer correspondence. She was a prolific writer and it was especially poignant to read them now.
May her family know only simcha and nachas and may Rochel be a maylitz yosher for all of us.

Many years ago, I spent a couple of summers with Rochel a”h
in the country. She made a point of. never walking out of her
bungalow without a sheitel. Most women were tichels. I had
asked her why she could be comfortable in those hot days and put on a tichel, after all we are in the country. She said
because that is what the Rebbe is asking us. It doesn’t matter city or country. I would never walk outdoors without wearing a sheitel.
Rochel was a lovely person! she gave you her time when talking to her about a shidduch !! so special!
Mrs. Heber made the shidduch for our dear children. We are forever thankful for her love of Yiddishkeit.
Yes I will be there Iyh mazel tov
She was a very special lady and this is a beautiful thing they are doing
