The Los Angeles community joined for a community-wide Gimmel Tammuz event at the Beverly Hills Hotel on Thursday.
The event, “An Evening with The Rebbe”, was co-sponsored by 16 local Chabad centers, including West Coast Chabad (Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin), Chabad of North Beverly Hills (Rabbi Yosef Shusterman), Chabad of Malibu (Rabbi Levi Cunin), Chabad of Hancock Park (Rabbi Shimon Raichik and Rabbi Levi Raichik), Chabad Bais Bezalel (Rabbi Moshe Levin), Chabad of Sola (Rabbi Avraham Zajac), Chabad of Pacific Palisades (Rabbi Zushe Cunin), Chabad of the Valley (Rabbi Mordy Einbinder), Chabad Persian Center (Rabbi Hertzl Peer), Chabad of Larchmont (Rabbi Mendel Cunin), Chabad Israel Center (Rabbi Amitai Yemini), Chabad on Montana (Rabbi Chaim Teleshevsky), Chabad of Brentwood (Rabbi Baruch Hecht), Chabad of Century City (Rabbi Tzemach Cunin), Chabad House Publications (Rabbi Chaim Nochum Cunin), and Chabad on The Hills (Rabbi Yosef Cunin).
The event included a stirring musical tribute to the Rebbe by Cantor Yanky Lemmer of the Lincoln Square Synagogue and an inspiring and thought-provoking lecture by guest speaker Rabbi Dov Greenberg of Chabad at Stanford University on the theme of “The Rebbe’s Reach.”
Rabbi Boruch Shlomo Cunin, Director of West Coast Chabad, welcomed the overflowing crowd with a powerful message on the Rebbe’s continuing mission and leadership, and Rabbi Yosef Shusterman, Director of Chabad of North Beverly Hills, shared the inspiration, meaning, and observances of Gimmel Tammuz. The event was emceed by Rabbi Chaim Nochum Cunin.
