Merkaz Anash:
There are different kinds of storytellers.
Some are historians who have a remarkable memory for facts. They recall occurrences they experienced or stories that they heard years earlier, down to the intricate details. If you need an exact date or figure, ask these people.
Others are fanciful narrators who mesmerize their listeners with whimsical tales. They bring their stories to life, and fill in any missing details with their creative imagination. Their stories are fascinating, but don’t entirely reflect what actually transpired in that time and place.
R. Zalman Duchman wasn’t either of these; in fact, he wasn’t much of a storyteller at all. He lived and breathed precious memories of the Rebbeim and their chassidim, sharing their lives with his listeners. “Flashback” is the story of one hearty tomim in the chassidic life of yesteryear.
The new issue of Perspectives magazine features many other fascinating essays, such as the Rebbe Rashab’s operation to save Jewish education in Russia, the scope of Torah education by Rabbi Ezra Schochet, the history of the yeshiva in Lubavitch, and more.

I look forward to getting each issue, but this issue was something special. I found the letters of the Rebbe Rashab extremely enlightening and relevant.
Keep up the good work! We need more like this.
Thank you COL for posting.

This is an extremely well written magazine. You are doing yourself a big favor by subscribing. A person will walk away in awe of the rabbeim and inspired to be a better chassid.
