The beautiful, newly renovated Popack Recreational Center and gym at Oholei Torah will, once again, be open for elementary school boys every Monday night from 6 to 8 PM.
Last year, an average night would have 40-50 boys. Games were played in a spirit of Ahavas Yisroel and overseen by caring, responsible adults. The daily price of only 3 dollars will ensure that all interested children in our community can benefit from the gym.
The two hours will be broken up into two time slots. 6-7 PM will be for boys in grades four through six. 7-8 PM will be for boys in grades seven and eight.
The YAM program and the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council are spearheading this project. Volunteers are always needed to assist with this project as well as sponsors. For more information, please email [email protected] or call/text 917-753-9117.

Great news and my son was there tonight. Agree that girls need sports as well.
Thank you for creating this project! Girls can’t go to parks because of tznius can we please give them an indoor option?
And girls! The girls need a gym time too, and some adults coaches to supervise. Basketball, soccer, machanaim.
