Authorities say two people are dead after a fire early Monday in Brooklyn.
The 3-alarm fire broke out at about 4 a.m. in a two and a half story house on 44th Street in Borough Park.
Firefighters encountered heavy smoke and flames on the first floor.
By the time they got into the home, the fire had spread to the second floor.
The victims, a 61-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman, were found unconscious in a back bedroom.
Both were pronounced dead at Maimonides Hospital.
Their daughter is in stable condition.
The fire has been placed under control. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
The couple has been identified as R’ Chaim Eluzer Shulem (ben Tuvia Gedalia) Gluck Z”L and Mrs. Faigy Gluck A”H, The Yeshiva World News reported.
A person who Davens with the R’ Gluck every morning called him “an extremely special person,” and told Yeshiva World News that R’ Chaim was the one who arrived at Shul first and was the one to unlock the K’hal Ohr Chaim Shul where he attended, and open the building at 4:30AM every single morning.
“The entire Shul was crying by 5:30AM when they realized who was killed in the fire,” he told Yeshiva World News.
The Levaya will be held on Monday at Shomrei Hadas Chapels in Boro Park at 2:30 pm.
Please say Tehillim for Chana bas Chava Faiga, who suffered severe smoke inhalation.

They are very good at blasting their sirens and waking people up in the middle of the night to get some doughnuts. But when just around the corner they can’t get there earlier enough to possibly save these people. They are overpaid unionized thugs. Once they get to the property they destroy everything and steal as well. Huge waste of taxpayer money. Firefighters should be volunteers or privatized.

In response to # 7. The FDNY now says that there were no smoke detectors at all, in the entire building.
Fires can start due to many causes. No matter the cause of the fire, our first task is to preserve human life. Always put in smoke detectors.
Please, please beloved Yidden, save the Aibeshters children!
You really have no idea as yet what the cause of the fire was
For all you guys know there might have been perfectly functional
Smoke detectors
Fire extinguishers
Other required paraphernalia
It seems sad towards the orphan girl(s) to prejudge the situation
The tragedy knows no bounds
Regardless of the whys and wherefores
One should always check the battery of the smoke detector. And if you have a fire extinguisher it should safe to use on electrical, oil and regular fire .
So sad the daughter is going to wake up at the hospital, and find out her parents died, what a tragedy

Another daughter of the couple is a teacher at the Lubavitch pre school in Fair Lawn, NJ.
