A spokesperson for Misaskim tells YWN that the Levaya for the seven children of the Sassoon family will be held at 3:00PM Sunday afternoon in Shomrei Hadas Chapels in Boro Park.
The Chapel is located at 39th Street and 14th Avenue.
Yaakov Sassoon – 5, Sarah Sassoon – 6, Moshe Sassoon – 8, Yehoshua Sassoon – 10, Rivka Sassoon – 11, Dovid Sassoon – 12 and Eliana Sassoon – 16, all tragically perished in a fire in their home late Friday night.
The children’s mother, Gila bas Tziporah – 45 and one of the children, Tziporah bas Gila – 15, survived but are in critical condition after surviving the fire.
A large NYPD detail has been arranged to assist the expected large crowd, but being that it is a large shopping day before Pesach, with major stores nearby, people should expect heavy traffic in the area.
Police have asked YWN to announce that people attending the Levaya should try and come together in cars to alleviate as much congestion as possible to ensure that the funeral proceed smoothly.
The Levaya will proceed to the airport following the Levaya.
The Kevura (burials) will be at Har HaMenuchos in Yerushalayim.
Seize every minute with your children for they r not yours they r gifts from HaShem and they belong to God. We r definitely getting very close to see mashiach. Let’s be ready!! Any fires burning in your heart. Any old resentment from the past towards family and friends? Forgive and let go. This is our wake up call. Pick up the phone and pursue peace. Don’t sit around and cry. Take action. Give these seven pure souls an Aliyah. lets bring mashiach now. It’s in our power. Don’t fight with your husband or kids. Pursue peace at all costs.
I hope that this story really inspires others to install and check on their fire detectors..maybe discuss what to do Gd forbid their is a fire. Hope their very precious lives that where lost saves thousands of other precious lives. Please Gd give this family strength to carry on we are all joining in ur sorry , your loss is our loss…. Prayers are being sent their way ….

AD MOSAI!!!
I have no words for this terrible news . lots of strength for everyone involved in this disaster of great magnitude . From Amsterdam, the Netherlands condolences. Steven Aryeh from the NIHS.NL
Those 7 childrens memory should be kept alive. How many more people have to die in house fires? We get warnings all the time, families wiped out just for not investing in a $10 smoke detector on every floor and maintaining it, but it seems thawt nobody learns the lesson until tragedy strikes. I hope this spurs a movement for safety.
where’s your bitachon?
these children were obviously very special.
let’s daven that the mother & sis survive.
boruch dayan emes
my deepest condolences
Does pointing fingers bring back these kids? Will it heal the mother once she knows about this loss? Point your fingers at a prayer book and pray for the family. That’s where fingers belong
The faces of these beautiful kids will be with us forever
Gayle needs our prayers to find the strength to deal with this if that is possible in any way. It’s beyond tragic

Silence in the face of such tragedies is NOT a virtue. If we beleive in the power of Tefillah we must all scream to Hashem
Ad Mosai!, When the Yidden did not stop screaming they finally left Mitzrayim. The Rebbe told us to do it ,so DO it! Let us not just be content with writing on col.Enough said!I am heading for my pushka and my siddur
If you don’t have one. This is the wake up call. If you have one, put in fresh batteries
shalom shalom shalom ………..
when we see all this horror we MUST do everything in our power to run from fights – even it we know we are right- run like from fire!
If someone is having a personal issue – DO NOT get involved with taking sides…….your taking sides only feeds the flames,
Flames emanating from fights destroys also!!!
We need Moshiach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The family’s Rav, Rav Cherba, has directed that for Gayle (THE MOTHER) all names be used that she is known by. Rav Cherba’s psak is to use these names: GILSOM GILA GAYLE bat TZIPORAH FRANCES and the daughter is TZIPORAH bat GAYLE She is named for her grandmother GILSOM (Arabic—a Syrian name) as are many of her cousins. Her husband calls her Gila. Her friends call her Gayle and her mother is Tziporah but everyone calls her by Frances. So if you want the most for your Tehillim readings go by Rav Cherba’s psak and use these: GILSOM GILA GAYLE… Read more »

What’s the fathers full name for tehillem for his sanity and strength to face this horror?
Feels like a stab wound to the heart.
This is a tragedy of unbelievably horrific proportions…my stomach is physically nauseous looking at this photo….these children’s faces…. all dead. The pain is excruciating. Once again, after the initial utter shock and disbelief, I can feel myself go into that way too familiar automatic ‘numb-like’ self-protective mode, feeling it slowly enclosing around my heart. Once again I hear the hushed tones of strangers whispering; ‘we don’t ask questions’…’we cannot possibly understand’… ‘we are but a piece in G-D’s puzzle’….’they were holy souls’ etc..etc. Once again we scream out AD -MATI? UNTIL WHEN?!!! …and once again…we are answered by silence in… Read more »
