Today, many Crown Heights families shopped at the ‘Shuk’ supermarket, filling carts with necessities such as milk, eggs, dairy products, fruits, vegetables and more.
The food was then paid for by Mrs. Devorah Scheiner, who arranges for yearly food distribution for the community’s needy families.
“We help put food on the table for families,” Scheiner told COLlive, “so they can have a happy Pesach – because for some, this would not have been a happy Pesach at all.”
The groceries come after a meat and wine distribution a few weeks ago, as well as a shoe fund.
“The people were grateful, and they left with happy hearts,” says Scheiner. “Happy and full hearts.”
