There aren’t many young adults who get the chance to create an art piece under the guidance of internationally acclaimed artist Michoel Muchnik.
Meet the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn. If you have been following the Friendship Circle’s progress and growth on COLlive, you will know that its many events and programs are innovative, exciting and mostly unique.
Michoel Muchnik recently brought the joy and mysticism of art to young men with special needs in Brooklyn.
“When we approached Michoel to help us with this project, he was excited to get on board,” Rabbi Berel Majesky, director of the Friendship Circle of Brooklyn noted. “We were amazed by his ability to find a style of art that each of these young adults, with their various function levels, were able to create.”
Through use of papers, spray paints, canvas, tiles and stones, Muchnik mentored the men in creating their own masterpieces.
“It was a tremendous and rewarding experience and I am glad to have been a part of this program,” Muchnik said. “Watching the young men’s minds and creativity at work was very inspiring.”
The Friendship Circle would like to thank Michoel Muchnik and his staff for their time and assistance with this program.
The Friendship Circle will be auctioning off these pieces at ‘The Art of Friendship’ event on May 4th. For more information or sponsorship opportunities, please contact [email protected] or visit www.FCBrooklyn.com/ART

A huge yasher koach to Michoel Muchnik for your amazing work and sharing your talent so gnerously with the community. People with cognitive disabilities can be vey functional in other areas of life — and often find expression through music and the arts. The work they have produced is impressive. I am so moved at the generosity of Michoel Muchnik for making this possible.
