Rabbi Levitin: Holy Jew, True Chosid. This was not an isolated act, but ongoing

While it’s true that “one isolated act of kindness” can do great things, this story illustrates the opposite: that ongoing, continuous outreach with follow up and genuine care, as embodied by Rabbi Levitin and his rebbitzen throughout their lives, is what really saved the day!

I am proud to be a member of Chabad, because when a person really needs them, Chabad is always there.

I remember when I was going on Mivztoim in Chicago years ago, there was an office I used to slip the weekly pamphlet under and didn’t think much of it. One time I came to that office and the person was there that week. He asked, “why did I miss the previous week’s pamphlet delivery? It made him so happy when he did receive it.” Then I knew that even actions that you didn’t see the results right, didn’t mean that there were no results or that the efforts were not appreciated.

BH Another zechus for R. Laiken. I really hope there is a follow-up phone call to the staff at Twin Maples to thank them for going to the extra effort of searching for a Jewish connection and explaining to them how their caring ways helped this man find eternal rest. They will not only be pleased to be recognized, but they will be encouraged to go the extra mile if there is ever such a situation again lo alenu.

thanks
