His only crime was playing ball.
A 12-year-old Jewish boy was attacked in broad daylight Wednesday by two teenage black males in Crown Heights.
He was playing ball at approximately 3:30 pm on President Street, just off Brooklyn Avenue, when he reached to the ground to pick up and ball and was struck on the head.
The attackers were two young teens, approximately 14-years-old, who were running by and punched him only to flee down Brooklyn Avenue.
The 71st Precinct of the New York Police Department said the case is being refereed to the Hate Crimes Task Force.
“The Jewish male suffered redness to the side if his face. No words were exchanged,” COLlive was told.
As #21 pointed out, de Blasio at one time worked in the David Dinkins administration Look out, Crown Heights! THAT’S WHERE HE LEARNED HOW TO LEAD & GOVERN!
Can we have “undercover shmira” following groups of black teenagers as they leave school? especially when they are seen walking in a pack? These kids , the large majority, don’t know who their fathers are and are brought up by their grandmas b/c their moms are usually too busy with other men.-No morals and a LOT of arrogance , especially since Obama got in. he has not made a dent in the improvement of his fellow blacks-never a word from him about their morality. don’t expect much and be cautious!

I’m sorry, but crown heights is so unsafe. Why can’t young children play outside in day light? I actually just moved here about a month ago and don’t know why on earth anyone would live here. U have to bc of private issues, but if I had a choice, I would never move to a place like this. I’ve never heard about so much crime in my life.

I don’t know what third world country you live in, but 12 years old is definitely old enough for a child to be out on the sidewalk in middle of the afternoon in the United States.

Everyone. RELAX. First of all, this has nothing to do with De Blasio. He won’t be mayor until Jan 1, 2014. Second of all, a strong system of police has already been put into motion years ago by Giuliani, followed by Bloomberg. At this point, the system is already micro-managed by individual precincts, and is unlikely to change. You can clearly see that the 71st precinct is responsive and will hopefully stay that way, no matter who the mayor is. In our society, we have many bullies, my son and daughter have been bullied by jewish children and their parents shrug their oh so frum shoulders. And do nothing. It’s your choice to live in a place as unsafe as Crown Heights. Believe it or not, there are communities where kids can grow up without thinking that bars on windows are the norm, where they can safely play out front or out back (or even have an “out back” to play in), where violent crime is rare … if you choose to live in a place that is inherently unsafe, why are you shocked or surprised when things like this happen?
umm…to comment No. 22. I don’t know if you were “joking” about leaving a 12 year old boy playing outside by himself, I hope you were because surely at that age you would think he would be safe. Does that mean he can only go to school accompanied by an adult.? I think most places in London, (well there are some areas not too safe) would be safe enough for a 12 year old to play especially in an area with Jewish neighbours.

Correction the story went very differently! First of all it happened at 2:15 the boy was on his way to 770 and it was a GANG of approximately 15 male African American teenage boys.
