Mrs. Rosalyn Malamud, director of the Crown Heights Women’s Mikvah for 27 years, visited the second mikvah that is being built in the same Brooklyn neighborhood.
Touring the construction site of Mikvah Mei Chaya Mushka on Lefferts Avenue last Monday, Malamud pointed out that the new mikvah fills a growing need in the community.
“For years, local Jewish women relied on just one mikvah,” she explained. “A second mikvah will provide many more Jewish women with the opportunity to fulfill the mitzvah of Taharas Hamishpacha.”
She told the mikvah’s founder and driving force Rabbi Moshe Pinson that the new, state-of-the-art facility is “a welcome addition to the Crown Heights community and for Jewish women in surrounding communities.”
Crown Heights is home to Lubavitch World Headquarters and dozens of shuls. It is frequented by Shluchim couples from around the world and visitors curious about Jewish life throughout the year.
Hooray for the upcoming mikva ,! It is a priority . A mikva takes priority over a shul or a sefer tora. The rebbe zya, sold a building of 770 to finish building the union st. Mikva. Is it time for less drastic action?
The situation is very drastic now. B.h. There r k”ah over 50 users a nite and Only 12 rooms!
When will this mikvah be open?
Let’s not forget way back in the day when we were limited to ONE mikva in a crummy little building that Rozzie Melamud volunteered YEARS to enlarge & beautfy it !! She continues to carry the burden til today – and while we’re at it, deepest gratitude to Brocha Levertov & her staff.
It’s on lefferts troy
Moshe is the man!!
He can make miracles.
Very nice to see !!! As Crown Heights grows it is so necessary.
Great to see the community working together for the betterment of all. It’s also nice that the “old” mikvah is gradually being improved
Kol hakovod to all that contribute
Kol HaKavod
for the Achdus in the Rebbe’s Shechunah
Where on lefferts is it?
