A Crown Heights boy who spent Simchas Torah with his family in Upstate New York has gone missing late Motzoei Shabbos, COLlive was told.
Benyamin Simantov-Linkov, 12, was last seen wearing a white dress shirt, black pants, black shoes and a black yarmulka.
He is 5′ 2″ and learns in the Ohr Menachem boys school in Crown Heights. His date of birth is 12/02/1998.
The Misaskim organization, along with Catskills Hatzoloh in coordination with the Monticello Police, Monticello Fire Department, Sullivan County Sheriff Department and New York State Police have set up a command center to oversee the search.
In Crown Heights, Hatzalah, Shmira and Shomrim volunteers are involved in the search across the Jewish neighborhood in Brooklyn.
“We have searched 770, Kingston Avenue and the parks,” a member of Hatzalah Crown Heights told COLlive. “We are asking the public to keep an eye out for him.”
Please contact Hatzalah at 718-230-1000 or Monticello Police Department at 845-794-4422 if you have any info to offer.
A police official, who spoke to VIN News on condition of anonymity due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, said that at the moment they do not suspect foul play.
Last week a youngster from Lakewood, NJ, who was in Crown Heights for the Simchas Beis Hashoeva celebration, was pronounced missing as well. He was found the next afternoon safe and sound.
UPDATE 10:35 pm: The missing boy has been found in Monticello in good condition.

!
are u a yente from yente land?
who cares what the full story is- all that matters is that the boy is safe and back at home! bh!
Can we please have the WHOLE CORRECT version of the story? It’s annoying when we only have little details that aren’t even correct! Thanks!
I heard the police arrested someone in connection to this. I don’t have more details
the article is incorrect, the boy, Benyamin was with BOTH parents during ALL of Shemini Atzeret/ Simchat Torah/ Shabbot.
I know this because I was with them ALL in Shul the entire time in Monticello, NY…. He was at home in Monticello when he was last seen….
The family is relocating back to CH soon.
glad to hear he was found
where and how did they find him?
My son called me and told me that Baruch Hashem the boy was found safe and sound
did they find him?
AS OF 10:30 THE MISSING HAS BEEN FOUND! B”H!!!
Hatzolo
binyomin boruch ben chana
we should hear besuros tovos for this boy. He should be found safe and healthy and get back to yeshiva to learn Torah and Mitzvos
he should be found safe
I was walking out of 770 after Mariv an hour ago, and was stopped by some shmira/shomrim guy, with the same picture of the boy which is in this article, I took the moment, took a good look at the picture and said “no”, I came home and read the information online and I know this boy well, THIS PICTURE ISNT A GOOD PICTURE!, please update it!
If anyone knows his and his mothers full hebrew name, please let us know.
he spent simchas torah with one of his parents in upstate new york but they are searching for him in 770 and on kingston? and neither of his parents know where he is or just one parent doesnt know? very confusing…. at least give his name so we can daven for him.
I know the boy’s family, it is hard to identify him with this picture.
tell everyone to look and davan and say extra tehilem
Let’s make an amber alert if any of ur friends on facebook recognize him
B”H no 1- he was not missing on Chol Hamoed.Hope you misread the article and are not making fun of a non joking matter.
If “no foul play” then why is he missing? Are his parents divorced and he went with the non-custodial parent? Did he run away? How can a child be missing and there is “no foul play”?
If the statement about him threatened to run away to Crown Heights is true then it needs to be looked into if he has attended a Chabad camp or program in the past that info should help with the search hope we hear good news asap
just puting in a thaught that mayb he ran away from his “1” parent 2 the other 1?
whre was he last? ch or monticello?
lets all try to say extra tehillem for his safe return.
hope he is safe
on second day of chol hamoed
B”H Amen to no 1
may hashem return him to his home safe and unharmed!
