Bochur Hit By Arabs On Mivtzoim

Two Chabad bochurim were attacked on Friday by Arabs in a shopping center in the northern Israeli city of Karmiel.

The students of the Chabad Yeshiva in Tzfas were on their weekly route doing Mivtzoim – offering Jewish locals to put on Tefillin and reminding women about lighting Shabbos candles.

Suddenly, one of the bochurim was hit on his neck from behind and his black fedora and yarmulka were snatched away.

The bochurim told COLlive.com that they saw two heavyset people who looked like Arabs.

“It was a total shock to me,” one of the bochurim said, asking not to be identified. “I am a healthy bochur and I wouldn’t have believed that they would start up just like that.”

He said that from the suddenness of the attack he did not have a chance to respond and didn’t have the chance to jot down the license plate.

But what was more shocking, he noted, was that passersby didn’t respond either.

“People didn’t even bother to look or move and ignored what happened,” he said. “How can it be that in a country of Jews, foreigners are hurting us? We must stop this phenomenon.”
