Rabbi Manis Tackles Issues

This is not Rabbi Manis Friedman's first time in Crown Heights, but is his first attempt to address burning topics which include: chinuch, tznius, shidduchim and marriage. Plus: he's having a kumzitz with his son Benny Friedman. Full Story

Rabbi Friedman

Please give a class for women in general -based on the topics, the right people will come. There is a desperate need here IN CROWN HEIGHTS for the wisdom that is mostly being given to baalei tshuva. There is a very real shlichus to be done here. I am a single older girl who would most appreciate such inspiration but I am no longer ‘post seminary’ for many years and therefore cannot attend any of the lectures. I am so disappointed..

please please post the session
November 10, 2010 8:06 pm

for the post sem girls.. it is an especially comfusing and delicate time.
thank!

it hurts
November 10, 2010 7:28 pm

why are there so few who know what they’re talking about? i dont want to follow blindly but the ones who can provide proper answers are scarce. i wish i had a chance to meet this guy.

love the pic!
November 10, 2010 6:20 pm

cool……

Smart
November 10, 2010 5:20 pm

same 25 😉
And to 15 – I guess I can speak only for myself, that for an event like this – I would most definitely pay! (I am sure others, who appreciate the magnitude would also, but you’re right, not everyone can afford to, no matter how much they want to)

Love #24! :)

Shidduchim
November 10, 2010 1:10 pm

To the Organizers:
Anything for Bochurim, shidduchim age???
They need a lot of guidance and help….
My son is already 26 going on 27, and I still don’t think he knows what he’s looking for and his priorities are very messed up, I think he needs to hear Rabbi Manis talk and really get some perspective in his life in general.
Elter bochurim nisyoinois, internet vichadoimeh……

Anything for older bochurim?

to number 1
November 10, 2010 12:35 pm

Didn’t the Rebbe speak to women about women related topics? Aren’t many teachers in girls high schools and seminaries men?

For the benefit of all
November 10, 2010 12:31 pm

These sessions should be video recorded and posted for others that could not attend to view.

manis can help
November 10, 2010 12:10 pm

Manis is the man. He speaks with kindness, wisdom, humor and intelligence. His fresh approach is likely to do wonders in our community. Kudos all around to the organizers.

go freidmans!

COME TO LOS ANGELES!

Who really understands tznius?
November 10, 2010 11:40 am

to #2 – if you’ll go, you’ll realize that the way Rabbi Friedman speaks, is first of all not a lecture. Second of all, I have heard him speak on topics even more sensitive than tznius, to frum, and non-frum crowds. And I remember coming away thinking that I don’t know how he does it, but somehow, even when he uses words that I myself would never say, it just feels so right- open and honest. His whole manner is the epitome of tznius. I finally concluded that he must have internalized the concept deeper than any living being I… Read more »

men only? Why?
November 10, 2010 11:39 am

why is the manis and benny thing for men only? Or why not do another one for the women?

responses...
November 10, 2010 11:34 am

to #7, how about, “Id like to help sponsor or find sponsors so that it can ALL be free to attend.”

to #9, try “With more effort we can fill a bigger room. How can I get involved to help spread the word?”

and to everyone else, I urge you to join me in asking the organizers: How can I help make this a massive success and see that it happens again son?

to number 9
November 10, 2010 11:10 am

1. i think they did this as a test run and want to do more in the future

2. most ¨lecture events¨ here end up to be empty the looking pathetic for the speaker and the small crowd attending. better to have a small setting then a big empty one

Program for post sem girls on Today?
November 10, 2010 11:02 am

Where and when?? Thanks

Please try to arrange!
November 10, 2010 10:54 am

It would be much appreciated if some sessions could be arranged for ALL women – not just for mothers and the post seminary crowd. Thank you.

I agree with number 9
November 10, 2010 10:42 am
Wanted to join!
November 10, 2010 10:19 am

Its so private that most people didn’t know abt it. Do u need connections to go to these small classes?

I can't understand
November 10, 2010 9:29 am

With a community of ka’h thousands of parents, why are these important classes being given in a shul which can hold a maximum of 100 people???

fantastic
November 10, 2010 9:23 am

so happy this incredible resource is available to crown heights. please keep us posted on classes for post-sem girls.

hey wait a second
November 10, 2010 9:13 am

you’ve got more than a few inconsistencies here – first of all, he’s addressed ALL of these topics before, though perhaps not in crown heights. (and with his experience in these fields, these sessions are a must-go to! But on another note – why were we only told about this now? Tuesday, Wednesday? of this week? that’s not much advance notice, to hear about it for the first time on Wed morning. Second of all – it says three evening sessions will be open to the GENERAL PUBLIC. I don’t call “Men only”, “fathers only”, or “mothers only” the general… Read more »

getting the job done
November 10, 2010 8:36 am

Please, please, please DO NOT criticize anything about this. Finally there are people who put their money where their mouth is. These are difficult times and these are difficult subjects. KOL HAKOVOD to Rabbi Friedman and his son for being brave enough to tackle them. The best of luck.

November 10, 2010 7:57 am

go maniis!!!!

excellent
November 10, 2010 7:20 am

More programming of this nature is needed. Yasher koach to the organizers and sponsors.

Thank you
November 10, 2010 7:00 am

To the organizers of these events. They are indeed important and crucial.

Not meant an insult to Rabbi Friedman in any way: Why is a man giving a lecture about woman’s Tznius to woman?
