I often wish...

…that someone had thought to send me and my brother to visit the Rebbe after we lost our mother as youngsters, in 1973.
I often think it would have done both of us a world of good.
But Hashem’s plans are mysterious, and I did not learn of the rebbe’s teachings until about 25 years later — a few years after Gimmel Tammuz. This, too, was meant to be.
An easy, meaningful fast to all.

Wow

Do I remember correctly that the Sharf’s father wrote to the Rebbe and asked that the Rebbe take care of his children before he passed away ?

That was the rumor back in the day, I don’t know if anyone really knows if he did or didn’t ask. Recently one of the family members were asked and he couldn’t verify either way. May today be transformed in happy and joyous days. ..

Beautiful…My eyes are still leaking…. Was there as a teenager when this happened and brought back so many memories as well as many powerful emotions of the bigger loss we all suffered on ג׳ תמוז.

I came to the rebbe at age 18 a few weeks before my mother was nifter in 1967. The rebbe was like a parent to me as i had no family. I used to write him and speak to him 2x a yr at the womens convention and before rosh hashana when the women were allowed to go up and speak to him after he spoke to the women. I will never forget. This brought it all back and had me crying
