Tragedy struck in the Nachlas Har Chabad neighborhood of Kiryat Malachi, Israel on Friday, Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av – the beginning of the Nine Days.
A young Chabad bochur Sholom Dovber Lipsh was killed after being hit by a car at the entrance to Kiryat Malachi, as he returned from Friday mivtzoim.
The medical teams of Ichud Hatzalah provided assistance and performed CPR on the 13-year-old who was hit by a vehicle on Route 3 near the entrance to Kiryat Malachi.
Chezi Rosenbaum, a medic from Ichud Hatzalah, said: “According to passers-by, the boy was walking when he was hit by a car. I performed CPR on him with the help of other medics.”
Boaz Sharon, deputy head of the Ichud Hatzalah branch in Kiryat Malachi, who participated in the resuscitation operations, added: “We performed prolonged resuscitation operations on him. Unfortunately, at the end of the resuscitation efforts, he was pronounced dead due to the nature of the severe injuries he suffered.”
Kiryat Malachi Mayor Eliyahu Zohar said: “We received with shock the bitter news of the boy’s death as a result of a serious car accident at the entrance to Kiryat Malachi. The righteous boy, a member of the Chabad community in the city, participated in placing Tefillin in one of the nearby shops.
“Rosh Chodesh Av and Shabbat Eve became a day of grief and mourning. We share in the deep sorrow of the family and embrace them in these difficult moments. The municipality will make available to them all the possible assistance and support.”
Ad mosai!!!!
Please don’t cross Eastern Parkway in the middle! It is so incredibly dangerous and drivers can NOT see you
This same advice applies any time you are crossing the street – Unfortunately, people here in CH are very careless pedestrians and walk AGAINST the light even when they do cross at the corner. The sun is very strong & the glare can totally play with the driver’s ability to see you. I am both a driver and a pedestrian and what I see here every day is very very troubling. Please teach your children about safety in the street.
With brochas for an end to all suffering with Moshiach NOW !
Yes!! Thank you for the reminder!!
BDE.
The family should be comforted.
I have seen countless boys just running across hardly looking. Every time is a miracle
I don’t know why people are against this. The Rebbe Rayatz once said this to R Shmuel Levitin when he saw RSL crossing on the middle of EP. “כ’האב געקוקט ארויס פון פענסטער און געהאט א שרעק”
I imagine the minuses are because the focus is on the loss of a child right now and sharing advice implies that it could or should have been avoided, when clearly it is Hashem plan, therefore it’s a time for words of comfort.
to lipsh Family
