The Shluchim Office, which assists thousands of shluchim every day through a variety of programs, is raising $360,000 for the next 36 hours.
As the world of Shlichus was beginning to expand exponentially, the Rebbe spoke at a farbrengen and called for the establishment of a central office dedicated specifically to the needs of the Shluchim.
It was a revolutionary idea then, and The Shluchim Office has established a thirty-year history of impactful projects and is the impetus behind the many institutions that offer assistance to Shlichus today.
This year alone, The Shluchim Office has helped Shluchim and their families through Networking, the Shluchim Gemach, Friendship Circle International and many flagship children’s programs like the Kinus Tzeirei Hashluchim, the Winter Camp, the Nigri International Shluchim Online School and CYH – Connecting Yaldei Hashluchim programs.
The Shluchim Office also serves as a home-away-from-home for Shluchim visiting New York, providing a lounge facility offering workspace, refreshment and relaxation when a Shliach visits New York, and the Pomegranate Suites for lodging while they visit.
All funds raised during the campaign will be dedicated towards the swift and speedy Refuah Shleima of the director of The Shluchim Office, Rabbi Gedalya ben Bat-Sheva Shemtov.
Stepping in to run the campaign in his stead and during his absence is an Interim Emergency Vaad comprised of forty-plus Askonim and Shluchim, friends of The Shluchim Office who are named below.
