Shluchim Kids Camp in Arizona

250 boys and girls from 20 states in the U.S. and another 4 countries are currently enjoying a 10 day mid-winter camp geared to children of Chabad-Lubavitch Shluchim.

Boys ages 8-12 enjoy 120 acres of wooded land at the C.O.D. Ranch, while girls ages 7-11 enjoy the beautiful campgrounds at the Triangle Y Ranch – both located on Mount Lemmon in Oracle, 45 minutes from Tucson, Arizona.

The head staff of the boys camp are Yossi Unsdorfer of England and Moishy Shemtov of Uruguay. Head staff in the girls camp are Draizy Raskin of Vermont and Chaish New of Atlanta.

The camp’s theme is called “Gear up”. They’re using articles of winter clothing to learn about their hiskashrus to the Rebbe.

The children are “Gearing up” so that when they go back to their homes, they’ll be dressed warmly with the Chayus they received and they’ll be able to utilize the tools that they learned in camp.

“Many of the Tzeirei Hashluchim campers live in secular areas with no Jewish education readily available,” says Moshe Pinson of the Shluchim Office, which coordinates the camp with Tucson Shluchim Rabbi Yossie Shemtov and his wife Chanie.

Campers were delighted to finally be able to meet their fellow friends – and classmates in the virtual Shluchim Online School – and spend time with kids who are just like them from the other side of the globe.

Surrounded by 400 acres of beautiful grounds overseeing beautiful mountains within the Coronado National Forest, campers, counselors and staff members are having a great time and are all enjoying their time together immensely.

Whether it’s from the great learning classes, the fun clubs, from the delicious food, to the amazing night activities, from the funny themed days, to the packed schedule, the girls and boys are guaranteed a fun time.

“We hope that the learning, chayus, and chassidishe atmosphere that they are experiencing in Oracle, Arizona, will remain with them as they return to their various hometowns,” Pinson told COLlive.com.
