The international committee of Shluchim and Askonim who joined last year when Rabbi Gedalya Shemtov fell ill to assist with the Shluchim Office funding and annual campaign are reconvening this year, as the director is still in recovery.
Over 100 Shluchim and Chassidim have already committed to donate $770 or more to the moisad’s annual fundraising campaign, and the committee is turning to all Chassidim and Shluchim around the world with a heartfelt request: join us in donating $770 or as much as you can, in support of this central hub established by the Rebbe to serve the needs of Shluchim, in their critical hour.
The Interim Vaad includes an open letter to the Chabad community worldwide asking that you join them in this most important effort.

Dear Fellow Chassidim and Shluchim,
We, a group of Shluchim and Askonim, joined together last year when Rabbi Gedalya Shemtov was hospitalized, forming an Interim Vaad which stepped in to assist The Shluchim Office with their fundraising and the annual campaign, in order to ensure the moisad continued to operate smoothly while the director recovered.
While Rabbi Shemtov has made major improvements over the intervening year, and we daven for his complete recovery, he still needs our assistance.
To that end, we are pleased to announce that the Interim Vaad is reconvening again this year to assist his wife and co-director Mrs. Bassie Shemtov, his son Rabbi Mendy Shemtov, and his son-in-law Rabbi Chezky Vogel along with Rabbi Avraham Green and
Adam Brooker and other key Shluchim Office staff in running their annual fundraising campaign.
The annual campaign is vital to the sustenance and growth of The Shluchim Office, allowing it to continue its work assisting Shluchim around the world on a daily basis.
We will, please G-d, be launching the campaign this coming Tuesday, 22nd of Sivan (June 5, 2018) with a goal to raise $360,000 in 36 hours.
We all remember standing at the Kinus Hashluchim in 5747 when the Rebbe called for the founding of a central moisad to support Shluchim. It was a revolutionary idea then, and The Shluchim Office has more than thirty years of history producing impactful projects and was the impetus behind the many institutions that offer assistance to our Shlichus today.
From the Nigri International Shluchim Online School for a thousand boys and girls around the world, to the winter camps and Tzeirei Hashluchim Kinus, from the Shluchim Gemach for personal simchas, to Friendship Circle International to cater to community members families with children of special needs, there are many more ways they work to help Shluchim succeed.
The Shluchim Office is also a home away from home for visiting Shluchim, offering a well-equipped Shluchim Lounge where they can work, have a bite to eat and relax, and the Pomegranate Suites where they can lodge when we come to New York to go to the Ohel and to 770. Hundreds of Shluchim come through the Shluchim Lounge doors 365 days a year, from all corners of the globe.
We are happy to share with you that over one hundred Shluchim and Chassidim have already committed to give $770 or more on the day of the campaign. We are turning to each one of you, our fellow Shluchim and Chassidim, and asking you to join us in supporting the upcoming fundraising campaign of The Shluchim Office with a commitment of $770 or more, or as much as you can give.
The success of this campaign is dependent on our extended family of Anash and Shluchim. On the day of the campaign, we will be picking up the phone and asking our friends to participate as well. Please join us and reach out to two (or more) friends, and ask them to support this cause together.
May all of the Tzedaka raised for the sustenance and growth of the Shluchim Office stand in the merit of Rabbi Gedalya ben Bat-Sheva Shemtov for a Refua Shleima u’kroiva, that he should be able to fully return to his post as its director with his full strength.
Thank you for joining us in supporting the moisad that the Rebbe himself established for the benefit of all Shluchim.
