A fun and nutritious snack! Children love to eat food that they helped prepare. This is a great way to encourage picky eaters to try tasting new and different foods.
TUNA MELTS
Ingredients:
2 slices bread
1 6oz can/pouch of tuna
2 slices tomato
1 pickle
2 slices American or cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
Directions:
Place the two slices of bread in the toaster on medium for about three minutes until they are lightly toasted.
Open the can of tuna and drain the liquid. Empty the tuna into a small bowl and mash with a fork until there are no large chunks of tuna.
Cut pickle into small pieces. Add to tuna. Add the mayonnaise to tuna and mix it all together.
Place a heaping spoon of tuna on each slice of bread. Place on slice of tomato ontop of the tuna. Top with a slice of cheese.
Place the tuna melt in the toaster oven for about 3 minutes until the cheese is melted. Remove from toaster and enjoy!
