Last Sunday, over one hundred women gathered together for the 5th annual Jewish Women’s Circle luncheon at Chabad Simcha Monica entitled ‘Gifts of Life.”
Women of all ages and influences came and enjoyed workshops, music, speeches and food. As they walked in they were welcomed by Mrs. Chaye Levitansky who greeted and seated all the guests.
The guests were also greeted by the beautiful spread of delicacies and tasty dishes all home-made by the shluchos and the luncheon committee at the Chabad house kitchen.
What was even more noticeable was the warm atmosphere that all those attending felt. Everyone felt welcomed and enjoyed themselves immensely. The centerpieces creatively crafted by Nancy Wilshinsky-Usen was also a gift for each attendee to take home with them.
Women were able to choose from a host of workshops from “The Feminine Soul, Is Feeling Jewish Enough?”, Home Organizing, Holistic Relaxation Methods and “The Waters that Keep the Fires Burning” – a talk on Mikvah.
Appreciation goes to Olivia Schwartz, Dr. Shirley Perluss, Sarah Levin and Esther Simon for presenting the workshops.
After the workshops women were greeted with a huge Italian inspired spread of dishes on a central buffet. Speakers and thank you’s followed, as well as singer, composer and musician Riv Eilfort who shared her talent with those present. The highlight was watching Mrs. Mirel Levitansky announce the surprise honoree of the day, fellow Shlucha and sister-in-law Mrs. Sori Levitansky. A tribute to her 18th year of Shlichus was made.
Although the event officially ended with dessert, many women lingered on to socialize and discuss all they had experienced that day.
