An international interfaith convention ended today in the Cyprus capital of Nicosia, with hundreds of Jewish, Christian and Muslim religious leaders attending.
Rabbi Zeev Raskin, Chabad Shliach and rabbi of the local Jewish community, was invited to speak at a panel. He mentioned that in Jewish prayers the concept of peace is specified again and again.
During the televised convention, Israeli-born Raskin called on religious leaders to denounce “acts of terror in the name of religion.”
Other attendees of the Jewish faith included Haifa Chief Rabbi She’ar Yishuv Cohen, Rabbi David Rosen of the IJIC, Israel’s Savyon Rabbi David Brudman, Oded Weiner of the Israeli Rabbinate, Rabbi Israel Singer of New York and Israel’s interior Minister Meir Shitrit.
