Ridiculous: Over the past month, 14 vehicles were broken into across Crown Heights and it is possible that a single criminal is responsible for all of them. A police source told COLlive there isn't much they can do because of the 2019 New York bail reform. Full Story

How about the politicians cars that are responsible for passing the no bail reform? Why are they protected? Hmmm… what is good for the goose should be good for the gander.

You can’t. Video cameras changed everything. The only crimes blue state DA care about are those perpetrated against criminals. It’s getting very sodom like out here.

Currently feeling so loved by the mayor who is strictly enforcing COVID restrictions out of his deep concern for our community… why is he not showing up now for our cars? Makes one wonder, does it not? /sarc.

“They are not even held at all. In the past, when crimes like this were committed, the perpetrator would be locked up for, at the minimum, a few months. Now there are practically no consequences for their actions.” The above statement is completely false. In the past people weren’t locked up a few months before being found guilty unless they couldn’t post bail or have bail posted for them. These days there still is a recourse, while someone won’t need to post bail they will need to show up to court to resolve their case and possibly be sentenced to… Read more »

Crime is rising in every category daily, The streets are not safe, Each day has more and more shootings in Brooklyn & specifically in CH, and very dangerously many shootings in the Center of CH over the last few months, something that CH has not experienced since the 1970’s In fact there was just tonight a very large shooting with 6 Victims on Albany Avenue just a few blocks north of CH near the Projects. There are 2 types of Neighborhoods throughout NYC. One type (which is the majority) has the majority of their neighborhood’s residents want to Defund &… Read more »

Lock your Car Doors
November 23, 2020 1:08 am

Besides for this which is a more brazen car breakin by smashing the window, There was the past few weeks dozens & dozens of Yiddishe owned Vehicles in Crown Heights that left their car door unlocked and was broken into, There are different groups of thiefs walking our streets nightly and trying every single car door handle and entering the vehicles that are unlocked and open and ransacking and stealing any valuables, This has been widely under reported, and rarely anyone even made a police report. CH Residents please LOCK and if your not sure then press the lock button… Read more »

The police can and should arrest him instead of whining to us about why they can’t. Bail reform just started recently, Inaction on the part of the local police to crime against members of the local Jewish community is an old story.

Join Shmira/Shomrim
November 23, 2020 4:18 am

Join Shmira/Shomrim At a time where the police are almost nowhere to be found, and there are lots of criminals on the streets of Kan Tziva Hashem Es Habrocha. Shmira and Shomrim, both great organizations, are out all day and all night doing their best for us all, they are also probably currently stretched thin because they are getting double the amount of incidents more than usual that they need to respond to over the past 6 months. These brave individuals are volunteering their time for you, for us, for our community, but they both need more brave individuals to… Read more »

The real issue is POLICE!!
November 23, 2020 6:49 am

This isn’t from bail reform this is from lazy cops who don’t want to do anything cause they can’t catch anything. But they do find time to make excuses and ruin people’s lives over Minor infractions all the time and sorry but when people get a record and can’t get a job what do you think they are doing to keep doing use your brains peoples ?? But the police do find a lot a lot a lot of time to sit on their phones on tax dollars. SO ALL YOU POLICE start doing your JOB and STOP COMPLAINING when… Read more »

This lawlessness has to stop. The city has officially decriminalized criminal behavior (no bail reform) and criminalized lawful behavior (covid restrictions). Time to go after our politicians with investigations and class action suits through the courts. Demand audits and info regarding every tax payers dollar spent, every bribe or taxpayer $ pocketed, every foreign lobbyist exposed, every crime of election fraud by them unearthed and send these people off to jail where they belong. Starting with the mayor’s wife and her use of 1.25 billion taxpayers dollars that disappeared and their brain fried druggy daughter who admitted on tape by… Read more »

Think About It
November 23, 2020 7:36 am

While I understand there is a serious problem here that needs fixing. It is wrong to hold people in jail, for the reason they dont have cash bail money, and before they have received a fair trial. That is a statement that only the better off financially have the right to bail. To hold them is punishment, and they should not be punished before a fair trial. Think about your family member in jail, because you can’t come up with cash bail for him/her. Lives and families have been ruined through incarcerating the innocent. Many of those lives and families are… Read more »

Blah blah blah. These are known repeat offenders. Not some sweet innocent kids. If the races were switched you would be singing a completely different time. It’s psychological abuse to gaslight the victims into feeling sorry for the criminals and tolerating this behavior. I don’t feel sorry for a career criminal whatsoever. They are not the victims but the perpetrators. I also find it astounding how the very same people who feel so compassionate for the criminals are also completely livid and critical against law abiding citizens who disobey the covid nonsense. Why? Could it be there is inherent racism… Read more »

This isn’t Texas. Over here criminals get a free pass to commit more crimes. You can’t rehabilitate someone who doesn’t want to change. Sometimes they need to first live through the consequences of there actions and hit rock bottom before they are interested in being helped. Coddling criminals and preventing the consequences just enables more of this destructive behavior or worse. Doesn’t help them at all. That’s the reality

Is it possible for the 71st Precinct to provide ColLive with a clear mugshot picture of this car thief (since they already arrested him twice, they should have 2 pictures), So at least we will know how he looks and the next time someone sees him late by night they can call Shmira & Shomrim to keep a eye on him from a distance waiting till he breaks into another car to catch him?
