In a whirlwind 48 hours Rabbi Dovid Eliezrie did a UK launch of the bestseller “The Secret of Chabad” in three events in London, Manchester and Oxford.
London’s prestigious synagogue, Kinloss, hosted Eliezrie. Rabbi Jeremy Laurence, spiritual leader of the congregation interviewed the author. A full house attended the interesting conversation, including prominent Shluchim from London. Lawrence interview focused on the leadership role of Chabad in Jewish life around the world.
In Oxford Rabbi Eliezrie gave a lecture on Chabad and Russia. The talk focused on Chabad’s leadership during communism and the secret Jewish underground established by the Previous Rebbe. Eliezrie noted “The Rebbe laid the foundation for the eventual rebirth of Judaism with the fall of communism.
Eliezrie also focused on the controversy concerning the Soviet Jewry Movement. Retelling a poignant story of the Rebbe requesting that the Israeli government either stop or at the least postponed a major demonstration planned for Passover. He recalled, “The Rebbe later revealed that because the Israelis-who were orchestrating the American demonstrations-refused a large number of Russian Jews were denied exit visas.”
In Manchester a symposium was held on Chabad and modern orthodoxy. There was an extensive discussion on Chabad’s view on the Zionism, secular education and role of women.

He spoke at my son’s wedding
He was great.
We had Rabbi Eliezrie speak at our Chabad shul a few months ago and he was great. Informative, entertaining and very lively. I strongly recommend him. People will love it.
