A storm with snow will make for slushy and snow-covered roads in much of New England and in coastal areas of the mid-Atlantic during the first part of this weekend.
The storm will take a northward turn and track close enough to the Atlantic coast to throw moisture in the form of snow over the Interstate 95 corridor. This is the same storm that has been producing snow from Texas to North Carolina into Friday.
Snow will ramp up over parts of Virginia on Friday, before spreading farther north over the mid-Atlantic during Friday night. The storm will affect the upper part of the mid-Atlantic Saturday into Saturday night.
In New York, the National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory from 6am Saturday to 1am Sunday.
A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will cause travel difficulties. New Yorkers should prepare for snow covered roads and limited visibilities, and are advised to exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking.
Alternate Side Parking regulations are suspended Saturday to facilitate snow removal. Payment at parking meters will remain in effect throughout the city.
Current projections show cloud cover increasing throughout the day on Friday, with the chance of precipitation beginning after midnight. Then, as Saturday progresses, rain in the morning will transition to a wintry mix before switching to a wet powder during the day. It’ll snow for most of the day.
Okie dokie no problem thank you for the updates
First snow of the season is a challenge no matter where you are!
Like as if it never ever snows in New York. When it snows in places like Montreal, is it BIG news like the way it is N.Y. ????
