Principals from about fifteen Brooklyn Chabad Schools gathered in Crown Heights, to learn about a program that would allow for teachers to collaborate to better student learning and ensure that every child is being reached.
The Inquiry Program for Chabad Schools, kicking off in our community for the new school year, gathers “teams” of teachers in each school to act as “Inquiry Teams.”
These teachers will meet regularly, participating in a focused, step-by-step approach to professional development and school improvement.
The intent of the Program is to implement strategies that will give a teacher the ability to reach every student and make sure that he growing academically and is realizing his potential.
For more information about the program, contact [email protected] or call 718-663-7215.
well said #5. some teachers in this community who are doing a good job are undermind by their principles to please the parents. its all about playing the right politics.( mostly in the boys yeshiva) some rabbeim are highly promoted as being the best rebbi in that grade while others are not. why? why should a school a place of chinuch which is the most important thing in Yiddishkeit. when the previous rebbe came to America that was the first thing he set up. why cant our mosedos be a safe haven of the truth,EMES AND NO POLOTICS?
if the principles were supportive of their teachers the teaching in the classroom will be successful. the techniques need to be given to the principles. good principles not drawn by politics make great teachers.
Zalmie – I am floored. You are doing unbelievable work! So professional and the schools can accomplish so much by bringing so many minds together to talk about Chinuch.
pay the teachers so they can teach and reach our children. With the best will in the world, teacher who isn’t paid since February can’t give 100%, not when she’s worried how she will pay her bills. Her babysitter won’t work for free.
I hope the schools will begin to implement the standards they are talking about. It is badly needed. Kol Hakavod to Rabbi Zalmen Schneur and the Menachem Foundation!
