At a recent event, the Educational Institute Oholei Torah honored the local 77th Precinct for the ongoing assistance and friendship.
Community Affairs officer Tania Salters accepted the award and a US Congressional Citation signed by Congresswoman Yvette Clarke.
Mr. Charles Jackson, District Representative for Congresswoman Yvette Clarke came special to make the presentation.
Reb Eli Slavin, community liaison for the congresswoman, introduced Mr. Jackson.
Rabbi Yossi Bryski, Director of the OTEG (Oholei Torah eighth grade) program, praised Ms. Salters for her constant readiness to help, not only in the security and safety issues, but also for many school events, such as the Sukkos amusement carnival and the school’s massive picture with logistical assistance from the local police.
Also in attendance were Seargent Verga, Police Officers Thompson, McCall, Thompson and Esteves all from the 77th Precinct.
They were thanked on behalf of Oholei Torah by Rabbi Sholom Goldstein, Principal of the Mechina Division, Rabbi Nosson Blumes on behalf of the school administration and Rabbi Veli Karp, a teacher and coordinator of many school wide and camp projects.
Rabbi Hershel Lustig, Dean, spoke of the holiday of Purim, and compared Ms. Salters as Oholei Torah’s Queen Esther, always ready to assist and help in the higher offices of our local police precinct.
Officer Salters addressed the students who joined the event, telling them how proud and honored she was to be part of our community. She also thanked the congresswoman for her recognition.
Ms. Clarke was unable to attend, due to the fact that she represented our district in Washington for the Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu address to the US Congress.
Thank you Rabbi Karp for all that you do for the Talmidim during Yeshiva, camp, Reb Michoels Minyan and more.
Keep up your work to bring moshiach.
All the parents appreciate and see the nachas from their children.
