Sandra Samuel, the nanny who saved Moishy Holtzberg from a terror attack 3 years ago, plans to return to Mumbai in the near future.
According to reports on Israel’s Channel 1, Moishy will continue to live with his grandparents Shimon and Yehudit Rosenberg in Afula.
The two have been raising Moishy ever since his parents, Rabbi Gavriel and Rivky Holtzberg hy”d were murdered in a brutal terror attack in their Chabad house in Mumbai, India, three years ago.
2-year old Moishy was rescued by Samuel, and she remained with the family since then, assisting in his care.
A little over a year ago, Samuel was granted Israeli citizenship which was to be renewed once a year for four years, after which it could have become permanent citizenship.
At the time, Samuel said she was “very excited” to receive the citizenship. “The love I give to Rabbi Gabi and Ima Rivky, I give to all of Israel,” she said. “I have come to love and respect Israel – I would give my life for Israel.”
and my 12th cousin
I WISH WE COULD JUST TOUCH HIM
Sandra you are a true hero. For Moshele’s sake, I hope you decide to stay but if you do go home to India we will always remember your acts of heroism, wishing you the best of health and happiness for years to come.
god bless you
Thank you Sandra for saving little Moishele ! We all wish you only health and happiness where ever you choose to live and we will remember you always!
Why would it be cool if she became a gieress?
We (meaning real Chabad and UltraOrhodox Jews) don’t encourage geirus.
Better she should keep the sheva mitzvos and enouage the other goyim in India to do the same.
A little over a year ago she was “very excited” to receive the citizenship.
Now she wants to go back home.
Not so confusing.
