Russia’s Head Shliach Hospitalized With Coronavirus

Head Shliach and Chief Rabbi of Russia, Rabbi Berl Lazar, was hospitalized in Moscow over Shabbos after experiencing symptoms and testing positive for coronavirus.

He is considered to have a mild case, and reportedly has pneumonia.

According to news reports he is scheduled to be released from the hospital in a couple of days.

During the recent coronavirus pandemic, Rabbi Lazar has strongly encouraged worldwide Achdus among Chasidim and Shluchim.

In a statement, Rabbi Lazar’s staff thanked the public “for their interest and prayers.”
