Ashkelon’s clear morning skies were darkened today with incoming rockets. Of the nearly 30 fired out of Gaza this morning three landed in Ashkelon.
The enemy claims this is in response to military actions in Gaza, however the last major attack came when President Bush was visiting Israel. Now with a new president in the US, it is clear that the old terror remains.
The girls of Or Chaya in Ashkelon were able to seek shelter in the protected first story of their school, however the boys at Or Menachem have no such protection. The only defense they have is tefila, tzedakah and good deeds.
Rockets in the first barrage landed perilously close to one of the 12 Chabad shuls in Ashkelon, Ahavat Israel, even though there was no damage. Three women were taken to the hospital for trauma. Representatives of the Shliach of to Ashkelon, Rabbi Mendel Lieberman, were quickly on the scene.
Following the second barrage, the girls of Or Chaya were told to remain downstairs and were not allowed out during recess and throughout the day.
The early warning siren did not function during the second attack, miraculously the ever-vigilant guard heard the rockets and alerted the school.
Looks like the kind of school I would love to send my children- hashem yerachem
This is so devastating.
May hashem protect them!!
yes very scary. should they be trained like we are (officially)
to run down quietly and calmy in case of fire, like in a fire drill. The shouts cause more uproar. But i dont blame them. Rockets are all to commen there.
Hashem is with them
With obama this cant get better.
Rachmanah ltzlan
May Hashem protect them.
