A petition has been created in response to Revel Scooters redrawing their End Ride Zone map to exclude Crown Heights.
“Many of us in the community have become frequent users of Revel. Using both the rentable electric scooters and their Tesla rideshare system. Unfortunately for us in Crown Heights, Revel has decided to alter the border of where it is permitted to end your scooter ride, this new border excludes much of the Jewish community of Crown Heights,” the petition reads.
Some people speculate that it may be due to the recent situation where discount codes were accidentally shared by the company and many people in Crown Heights rightfully took advantage of the opportunity, receiving hundreds of dollars in credit.
“Whether the reason for the exclusion of our community is because of ridership or because of a way to mitigate the use of the free credits, we ask that Revel only slightly redraw the border to help include Crown Heights,” they said.
The link below is a practical step to show Revel that Crown Heights wants to be included and not excluded.

Codes.for the car not the scooters
codes work for both
Codes werent even issued by the company…
This will save lives. Motorcycles are called donor cycles for a reason. They are young people with good health. Let’s stay safe and far away from electric scooters and motorcycles
??
Keep these scooters outa here.
Just today the was a post on COL of people complaining/commenting in the article about the DOT that there are too many scooters in our neighborhood. So this will at least curb some of the scooters and mopeds flying around an hour neighborhood.
These are registered mopeds, and are only legal for road use and must follow all laws cars do. If you see someone riding one not obeying the law, you can submit video or photo proof to revel and they’ll suspend the rider from their service.
Traffic is crazy, no more cars!
You’re speaking from a place of privilege. Not all of us have cars and rely on the service to get to work or school that otherwise would take 4-5 times longer than subway. I’m not asking for your car, so don’t steal my scooter.
Scooters are OK if the riders stay on the street AND OBEY TRAFFIC LAWS. THEY DO NOT!! They ride on the sidewalk and endanger the safety of older pedestrians. I can’t tell you how many times one of those things almost ran me down while walking to and from Shul!!
not being able to end in ch means you can’t get a revel in ch in the first place
I have a feeling this is due to scooters getting damaged/stolen in CH, not because of overuse. This probably isn’t an issue with our community, if you take my meaning.
I’ve seen a lot of damaged/graffitied Revel scooters around Crown Heights. Probably not due to us though….
The sheer entitlement of this phrase:
. . . many people in Crown Heights rightfully took advantage of the opportunity . . .
is utterly astounding to me. When did theft become a virtue?
When I read this, I set down my phone and laughed. Perhaps I should have cried. I understand we’re New Yorkers, but must we also be degenerates?
Sad, sad, very sad.
You state in the title of your comment that you were laughing. However, you end off with saying how you “should have cried” and “Sad, sad, very sad.”
Please explain your emotions clearer.
Many times we laugh not because we are having a fun time but because of the absurdity
More parking for people that work and have jobs, (and pay all those taxes)
not tznius to have these scooters & dangerous
this is not our way
what if you take the subway, arrive at 770 at 11:30 PM, and then have to walk to the 900 Block of Montgomery St …..take a scooter. No they rob us. And I have gout.
I use their scooters often and am upset they’ll no longer be available (for at least the winter)
They’re a convenient and very low cost option for getting around
They take up no space when parked and solve a Crown Heightser’s biggest parking nightmare
When driven safely and responsibly they are not dangerous
Now their will be a few more parking spots available
The codes weren’t “accidentally shared”
Thay did it to themselves.
