The Rebbe would always encourage chassidim and shluchim to write him reports about activities they have been doing. Many letters from the Rebbe begin with a thank you for a detailed report, or a request for one.
Now, the Mivtzoim Network has just made that easier.
When you are done doing mivtzoim, all you need to do is text in your ‘Duch’ information, and you are added to the weekly Mivtzoim Duch which is sent to the Rebbe’s Ohel.
“Everyone wants to write a report to the Rebbe after going on Mivtzoim,” says R’ Tzali Laufer, director of the Mivtzoim Network, a project of the Lubavitch Youth Organization.
To register, one needs to text DUCH to 347-770-0345, and then is asked to answer the following questions: What is your first name, mother’s name and family name? Who is your mivtzoim partner? In which Yeshiva do you learn? In which area is your mivtzoim route?
Once you have registered, you are sent a list of short codes to use every time you will text in your Duch, (ex. T for Tefillin, N for Neshek, etc.)
The new Duch project is another one of the many projects of the Mivtzoim Network which include assisting bochurim with starting new Mivtzoim routes and networking Mivtzoim routes within the same area.
Rabbi Kasriel Kastel, Program Director of the Lubavitch Youth Organization believes that the Mivtzoim Network is a great way to connect working members of Anash with bochurim who go on Mivtzoim.
This past year, many of Anash who have met Yidden throughout New York City have passed on their contact information to the Mivtzoim Network, which resulted in these Yidden being added to the Mivtzoim routes in their area.
With the start of the new Yeshiva year, over 30 new Mivtzoim routes have been created, thanks to the Anash that contacted the Mivtzoim Network with the names of Yidden they met in the course of their work.
