Businessman and philanthropist Shlomo Rechnitz made sure it was truly a joyous Purim for so many this year.
Hundreds of people from all walks of life lined up at his Los Angeles home on Motzei Shabbos to request his assistance.
With the help of his new son-in-law, Shmuel Kornfeld, Rechnitz distributed hundreds of thousands of dollars until the wee hours of the morning.
Over 400 locals also received gift cards for use in area stores, sponsored by Rechnitz, and distributed by Rabbi Levi Raichik.
Recipients of the gift cards were assisted in performing the Mitzvos of Purim, including hearing the Megillah and eating the Purim meal. Over 100 people put on Tefillin as well.
The annual Purim street party sponsored by Rechnitz will take place tonight in Los Angeles, with Mordechai Ben David and the Kinderlach.
