The editorial board of Kehot Publication Society recently discovered a copy of the Torah Or Siddur with notes of the Rebbe on the margins.
Upon careful scrutiny, it appears that the Rebbe had begun preparing a new run of this Sidur, and wished to add practical notes, indicating where the Chazan should say aloud, when to gather the Tzitzis and how to touch the Tefilin etc.
Whilst most of the material has been published before, in Hayom Yom or Sefer haMinhagim, there are several notes that have never been published hitherto.
These notes were included in the latest run of the Sidur Torah Or, and should be available in stores.
The text of this siddur was arranged by the Alter Rebbe after careful study and comparison of 60 different prayer-book texts. Scholars highly regard siddur Torah Or because of the text’s precise grammar and vocalization.
At a recent Yom Limud in London, Dayan Levi Raskin presented this discovery to Anash.
