Bochurim from the Yeshiva Summer Program in Morristown (YSP) recently visited the Morris County Cultural Center, a historic building in Morristown, New Jersey.
Built in 1920 by Dr. and Mrs. Shulman of Brooklyn, NY, the building housed the Aurora Health Resort, a facility where people came from all over the US for medical treatment and convalescence.
The Previous Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson, was a patient at the facility in the summers of 1941 and 1944.
The Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, visited his father-in-law regularly during his stays there.
The building now houses the Morris County Cultural Center.
Rabbi Yisroel Gordon accompanied the boys and told them of the days when the Previous Rebbe stayed at the facility.
mommy cant you see me why dont you post a comment for me
you are correct, the Rebbe never left N.Y. after yud shevat 5710, but before that in 5704 he did go to visit the previes rebbe.
I THOUGHT THE REBBE NEVER LEFT NEW YORK AFTER YUD SHAVT 1950?
We always knew about this place. I went there as a bochur with Rabbi Gordon over 20 years ago.
From the headline it seems as they just discovered this place. I was a camper at YSP in the summer of 5751 and we also visited the resort with Rabbi Gordon. We where told then that is was a yearly trip for the campers to visit.
What do you mean found? when i was in YSP in 1991 they took us there. i have the pictures, its the same place.
