The pain is beyond bearable. It hurts so bad. My heart and mind just wonder towards her precious children. The Minkowitz run a summer camp as part of their shlichus, and I am truly honore and humbled to say that I am one of the counselors that were given this great privelidge. However, we didn’t just go for the summer and see them Once a week when got our paycheck. I along with 17 other girls not only lived, but took over their house for 6 weeks To the point that they had their own kids sleeping in their room… Read more »

This honestly is the most tragic news I have ever had to receive. I am truly honored and humbled to say that I am one of the lucky girls who had the privlidge to have been a counselor in their awesome camp, therefor knowing Rashi on a personal level. I am so deeply pained by this news for many reasons but mainly for her 8 precious beautiful neshamas. I still remember picking up Rabbi Hirshy and Rashi from the airport in 1998 to take them to spend a Shabbat in the Beth Tefillah neighborhood and interview for the position of shluchim for Chabad of Alpharetta. Nine years after that, I had the privelige of moving into the Chabad of North Fulton neighborhood with my family in January 2007. Words cannot do credit to the degree of emptiness my family and I are feeling right now in response to this inexplicable tragedy. I pray that G-d gives strength to the enormous number of people, family and friends alike, whose… Read more »

She is a true inspiration. She made us all feel at home. I truly have the best memories from my summer there. We literally lived and took over her house and she did it with a smile. Among other 20-30 people in her house, I was invited and introduced to my own heritage. Ever since, I participate and organize Seders for my family and friends. as an out of town seminary girl, Rashi was one of the few crown heights girls who welcomed me into her house, invited me for Shabbos and kindled a friendship. I will be forever grateful!! Rashi, you will be sorely missed. YOu were an inspiration to many, an outstaning shluchah and Im proud to have been your friend! May hashem give your family the strength they need to get through this ( if that’s possible)

As a close friend of Rashi through elementary, high school, seminary, and beyond, I can say that Rashi was truly larger than life. Rashi had a special spark and charm that endeared her to all. With her kindneess, warmth, and spunk, she was literally the life and energy of our class. Rashi was intelligent and wise beyond her years.
Rashi carried her responsibilities as mother and shlucha with a most positive attitude that was so inspiring.
The pain is deep. Very deep.
May Hashem comfort her husband, beautiful children, parents, and extended family.

We are so sad to hear of this terribly tragic news. The Hershey family are some of the most beautiful people we’ve ever met. When my father passed they were all there for us. They really comforted my family. I know how much the Rabbi loved her she was his/their rock. May Hashem comfort Rabbi Hershey and those beautiful children, grandparents and extended family throughout the world.
Our family has been blessed by only knowing her.

There isn’t any sense to be made of loss. There aren’t any words to capture the utter bewilderment we feel when tragedy arises. THIS cannot be the truth. I can only allow myself to think about this in an almost abstract way. This is real- yet, if I delve to deep I will be lost within tears, pain, and a darkness that isn’t simple to escape. We were 17; and my friends and I crammed to set up our summer plans. I knew Rashi because we were related, but not entirely then. We arrived in Alpharetta, GA, a group of… Read more »

Four years ago I had the merit of being a counselor by Rashi and Hirshy’s succesful camp. Being that I was in 11th grade the rule was that we had to stay at the Shluchim’s house. But to connect dots from this to another tragedy is wrong on many counts: 1. minimizes this loss 2. minimizes whichever loss to which one chooses to draw a connecting line. 3. one should draw lines between dots of good/happy things to create patterns and leave the unhappy/tragic dots to stand on their own and be addressed individually. What will be for this most beautiful family.
Look at the pure joy and innocence on their faces!
They look like such a happy family together, with so much love between them.
How can they be ripped apart from their mother like that?
How could G-d take away their happiness?!

    I dont want an explanantion!
I want to see these kids with their mother again!
Moshiach right right now! Every second not here, is most painful for all of us, and especially these kids!

Rashi, may your goodness, kindness and wonderful deeds that you have bestowed upon others always serve as a source of comfort to your beloved family and to the community that you served so humbly. You will be missed by everyone whom you touched with your love and compassion. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Minkowicz family. We certainly lost a very young, bright and shining star. Rest in peace sweet Rashi…

I never met Rqshi, but she has a beautiful smile. When I saw this I cried and cried. So many people have left most wonderful comments. She obviously made huge impressions on all who met her. I’m so sad for the family. I really am. May Gd bring Moshiach to end this, it’s crazy.

When the Jews are divided, and ego and money is the order of the day, stuff happens.

Not everything we see we understand.
H-shem doesn’t have to reveal his reasons.
This is the Acrayius of H-shem to take care of this precious family.
Our shlichus in the world is to spread H-shems holy name and not be blocked by tragedy .

“This is the achrayus of Hashem to take care of this precious family?” There’s Mitzvah to take care of orphans and for that matter anyone downtrodden or distraught or lonely and that includes many many people. It is now everyones shlichus to take care of this family, all chasidei chabad and more, who do you think Hashems shluchim are?? WE

May the bereaved family of Rashi Minkowicz bear their mourning through the recollections of their precious memories. As the mother of 8 children myself, such a loss for her husband and children is immeasurable. Her legacy will help them in regaining their recovery.

May Hashem give the entire family the strength to overcome this tragedy.

Just 5 years ago I experienced a tragedy right before Purim that changed my life forever. From my experience: When Hashem gives someone a big test, the kind of test that anyone would agree is a “test”…it becomes a time when Hashem makes it possible to have a very high level of simcha. Since the test is beyond understanding and so hard to deal with, it becomes “easy” to throw your hands up and say “Hashem I need your help, big time!” This is when, at least for me, I was able to find simcha, and as a result Hashem… Read more »
