Badatz of Crown Heights has encouraged setting Monday as a Yom Tefillah with added Tehillim and making special Kinusim in the schools.
in a letter released before Shabbos, Rabbi Avraham Osdoba and Rabbi Yosef Braun, Members of the Badatz of Crown Heights, write: (free translation)
In recent years, people have risen up to sabotage the vineyards in the way our sons and daughters are to be educated.
Recently they have increased to endanger our future and the Torah way of life, working in cohort with various governing bodies plotting a terrible decree to change the structure of the pure education of our sons and daughters, if these regulations would become law, the Government would be the ones empowered to decide which Yiddish schools we are entitled to choose for our children!
Therefore, we have come to propose to establish a “day of prayer” (in reciting Psalms 121, 130, 142 and 150) as well as a “gathering of Torah, Tefillah and Tzedaka”, “as one man with one heart”, in all educational institutions on Monday On the eve of Rosh Chodesh Sivan, and it would be commendable that others will see and do as well.
The Rabbonim conclude the letter with a Postscript:
“Here is the place to arouse also about the necessity of striving in the way of nature “Hishtadlus”, to inform the government that only in the way of our fathers will we go, to educate our sons and daughters in the way of the Torah.

Last week, in a heartfelt plea, Rabbi Yosef Braun turned to the community and beyond, asking, and even Paskening that everyone fulfills their obligation – personally taking part in this critical moment.
Rabbi Braun contrasts our Nisayon with that of our Rabbeyim. They were moser nefesh fighting for the purity of our children’s chinuch!
At the moment “We are merely being required a simple act,” Rabbi Braun says.
The contribution is merely 30 seconds of time to sign the petition.

Why are there only Lubavitch schools listed endorsing the petition? Doesn’t this issue concern everyone?
Do the other groups have their own petitions?
Each community to my understanding has their own petition. Agudah has about 60k signatures
torah umesorah had their own page , pearls has their own page, halb etc
They are promoting strange ideologies and indoctrinating the weak to control them and feel threatened at the prospect of children growing up as thinking human beings with freedom of choice. Just like the communists they want to enforce their agenda on everyone and fear opposition. Their reign of terror will collapse and we will continue living the healthy, moral, successful life that is free many of the very serious problems and crises their public schools are plagued with.
I wonder if the city would make an agreement instead of substantially equivalent that we had to learn specific subjects would the rabbonim still fight back I think yes
Have to help chinuch of children not when there is a situation at stake from the government but when a child gets abused from a teacher or a child goes off the derech because of the hanhalah- RABBONIM HAVE TO BE THERE! Only then will people be more supportive.
I think a public apology is in order… from the Rabbi’s and Jewish doctors that sat idly by or ACTIVELY enforced non-vax students to be removed from Torah education/Jewish schools and Chidon! 3 years ago during the measles ‘scare’.
When the government saw WE were against our OWN… the door flew wide open for this kind of attack to be the next step… People need to start connecting the dots.
I couldn’t have wrote this better myself!
The matter can be publicized that this is a very small piece of a larger kitrug, a continuation of that proceeding Hey Tevet, known only to particular individuals, regarding accuracy with hafatzos. (Prior to Hey Tevet there was a question on Lubavitch, resolved by increasing in the “quantity” of hafatzos, displayed by the motivation to find a mashpia to be held accountable for more Torah, Tefillah, Tzedaka, and hafatzos). The matter with schools appears substantial, and intimidating, however there is nothing to fear. The improvement of chinuch is as critical and valuable as the government’s intent, though it is not… Read more »
State Governor give schoolboard millions
She has a lot of influence
Can you ask her to stop the school board from interfering with Yesheivas?!
Only HASHEM knows what’s best for our children. Part of what they want might be a good idea. I knew a lot of very Chashdish people that have teaching degrees. In Israel you can’t teach without a degree. That’s why they have a 4 year seminary.(in bais rivkah) What is the big deal to ask our teachers to get a ged. If the guy can’t pass a simple ged test I don’t think he should be teaching my son GEMORAH. If he is Claiming that he is a smart guy. ged should take him a few weeks. And if he… Read more »
