I am 24 days younger, 26 Kislev 5719. He was 63 as mentioned. When we were growing up in Montreal, around 7 or 8 years old, on shabbos we would play the following game: Open a Chumash that had all five seforim, Braishis through Devorim, on any page and guess how many pages to the next letter Pay or Samach, or till the parsha ended. To play this game, and win, meant you had to essentially know the book by heart. YY always won. We played with him realizing we had no chance, but to see his amazing mind. He… Read more »

He was truly the sweetest of the sweet, a holy soul who radiated gentleness, kindness and joy.
He was a Chossid without a trace of ego and greeted everyone with warmth and kindness.
A holy Jew who brought holiness to the world.
Montreal mourns for this gentle giant of a neshama.
May he, in his joyful and kind way convince Ribono Shel Oilam to bring Moshiach already….
Yehi Zichro Boruch.
Rabbi Yossi Greenglass was a fixture in my life ever since I can remember. He was the smiling Rabbi who always came by the house to pick up pushkas and always brought candy for the kids and shefa brachot for the family. What can we say about a man who could only be seen around the city toiling to do chessed wherever he went. He devoted his life to Hashem and to His Torah and we are so grateful to have known him and to have benefitted from his light. May his merit protect us all always. Baruch Dayan Haemet

Reb Yossi would wait for the bus and shlep a briefcase full of Pushkas which weighed a ton, in the freezing montreal winters. Nothing would deter him from accomplishing his Shlichus and raising money for the Yeshiva. All in his humble way and always with a smile. יהי זכרו ברוך
