Rabbi Shmuel Gedalia Blizinsky, a resident of Hollywood, FL, passed away on Friday, 13 Sivan, 5780.
He was 89.
Rabbi Shmuel was born in Warsaw, Poland, the son of the famed Mashpia Reb Meir Sholom Blizinsky obm.
As a child, he moved with his family to Eretz Yisroel in the summer of 1935, with the haskama of the Frierdiker Rebbe.
He was one of the Rebbe’s first Shluchim of Ufaratzah in the Kibbutzim of Eretz Yisroel.
He later lived in Hollywood, Florida, for many years, where he helped establish a Chabad Shul and Shiurim. Together with his wife Chava, they merited to bring hundreds of people back to Yiddishkeit in their open home.
Rabbi Shmuel was known for his great energy and joy in which he approached everything in his life.
He leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Chava in Hollywood, Florida, children Ziporah Gordon/Goldman – New York, Mati Deutsch/Kirsche – Florida, Shuly Rubel – New York, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Levaya will take place Sunday, passing by 770 at 2:30 PM and at 3:30 PM in Montefiore Cemetery.
