Rabbi Shaya Gansbourg of Crown Heights, who served as a Shliach in Harlem, NY, passed away on Adar 7, 5773.
He was 57.
Rabbi Gansbourg lived in Crown Heights, and was in the publishing industry until 2005.
In 2005 he founded Chabad of Harlem, NY with his wife Goldie, blazing the trail for the revival of Harlem’s Jewish community.
He is survived by his wife Goldie, and children Yossel – shliach in Harlem, Henya Matusof-shlucha in Madison, Wisconsin, and Rashi.
He is also survived by his sisters – Mrs. Sara Lieberman and Mrs. Shaindy Jacobson of Crown Heights, Mrs. Rychel Margolin – Shlucha in Virginia, and his brother- Berel Gansbourg of Montreal.
Levaya will take place today, passing by 770 at 3:45 pm and at the cemetery at 4:30 pm.
Shiva will take place at 1368 President st.
Mincha: 5:30pm followed by Maariv
Baruch Dayan Haemes.
