Rabbi Chaim Moshe Mordechai Shaikevitz, a dedicated Chabad Shliach for over 32 years, passed away on Friday morning, 5 Cheshvan 5781.
He was 61 and passed away suddenly.

Upon the passing of Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka Schneerson, wife of the Rebbe, Rabbi Shaikevitz founded Beit Chabad Milan on Via Luigi Soderini.
Soft-spoken and friendly, Rabbi Shaikevitz was the address for hundreds of tourists and business people who visited Milan over the years and searched for a minyan and a kosher meal.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Soshe Shaikevitz, their children Rabbi Levi Shaikevitz – Milan, Italy; Rabbi Shneur Zalman Shaikevitz – Kiev, Ukraine; Rabbi Meir Shlomo Shaikevitz – Rome, Italy; Rabbi Yechezkel Shaikevitz – Crown Heights; Mrs. Chana Heller – Bushwick, Brooklyn; Mrs. Freida Wilchansky – Milan, Italy; Mrs. Hena Gurevitch – Lyon, France; Mrs. Sheina Simpson – Crown Heights; Sholom Shaikevitz, Shmuel Shaikevitz, Chaya Mushka Schtroks – Buenos Aires, Argentina; Bracha Shaikevitz and Yisroel Aryeh Leib Shaikevitz; and grandchildren.

It’s too hard to see this. We need the geulah more than ever
We are so saddened by this terrible loss. I will always remember Rabbi Sheikeviz’s lessons. May Hashem bring comfort to the whole family. We are so sorry for your loss
He was also a teacher (and much more) in seminary
Our heart goes out to the entire family and community. Rabbi Shaikevitz was a huge father figure for us and cared deeply for each girl on an individual level- whether constantly asking how we were doing, taking care of any problems we might of had, or taking the time to repeat a point in class numerous times until he was sure every girl understood. He has touched and impacted countless lives with his patience and devotion, and we will miss him more than words can describe
A HUGE loss for the entire Milano community and Seminary. He taught me in sem and was the greatest Gemara teacher out there. He will be dearly missed, may his Neshama have the highest of Aliya and may his entire family be comforted! No words can express how painful this news is 🙁

BDE!! This is sooooo terrible and shocking. I am in tears and can’t imagine the pain the family is going through now.
Rabbi Shaikevitz was such an incredible and humble person who left such an impact on myself and the many seminary girls through the years. He did so much for the community and sem girls, yet remained humble and quiet about his work. He showed us what it truly means to be selfless and take care of others.
May the family find comfort and only know of happiness!
Rabbi Shaikevitz had a huge impact on me, from his teaching but even more from his character. He was a dugma chaya in humility and emes.
This is very very sad news. A huge loss.
Rabbi Shaikevitz was one of the humblest person I’ve known. He ran a whole community yet so gave each and every one of us seminary girls his patience and undivided attention. He went out of his way to make sure no one ever felt embarrassed or left out. This is so hard to hear, my his neshama have the greatest aliyah
What an amazing man. A huge loss to the community of Milan and community of Shluchim worldwide
I thought that after the constant stream of lo oleinu niftarim this year, I was numbed to the bad news. And now this. I got to know Rabbi Shaikevitz and his family on a personal level during my smicha year in Milano. I can honestly say that my favourite year of yeshiva was that year, due to the unmatched hospitality of the community. I spent many Shabbosim at the Shaikevitz’s table, a beautiful and chassidish experience. My heart goes out to this wonderful family, may Hashem spare you and us any more grief.
