Over 70 bochurim gathered at a storefront in Crown Heights this week to hear a talk from world-renowned author, counselor and lecturer Rabbi Manis Friedman.
The first-of-a-kind question and answer session for single Lubavitch bochurim took place at the newly established Besht Center, a shul for post-yeshiva bochurim and newly married yungerlight.
Participants remained riveted for over three and a half hours, as Rabbi Friedman spoke about what Chassidus is, and how it is meant to affect those who learn it – and says that if it doesn’t – something is being done wrong.
Rabbi Friedman stressed how important it is that a person truly know himself, for when he does, he is able to find relevance in what he is learning and what he is being taught.
Rabbi Friedman, who spoke to COLlive.com before the event, also explained what is hisbonenus – introspection – and why it is necessary.
During the question and answer session which followed the talk, many hot-button topics were discussed, such as shidduchim, marriage, the internet, and more.

Usually when put the words “single bochurim” and “manis friedman” together, one would expect him to speak about shidduchim and the dating system,
Did he touch on that subject at all?
