The Yeshiva Gedolah of Greater Miami, Florida, held a special farbrengen on Tuesday night, the 13th of Iyar, to mark the yartzeit of R’ Yisroel Aryeh Leib Schneerson, the brother of the Rebbe.
Joining the Rosh Yeshiva, Rabbi Yehuda Leib Schapiro was Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky, Mazkir of the Rebbe and Chairman of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch and Machne Yisroel, as guest speaker.
With bochurim closely listening, Rabbi Krinsky shared his experiences with the Rebbe throughout the years that he worked in the secretariat. He described his trips to the Ohel, his entering the Rebbe’s office, and the tasks that the Rebbe entrusted him with.
The event was organized by Bentzion Pearson, a shliach in the Yeshiva, and sponsored by R’ Mendy Mayberg in honor of his son Yisroel Aryeh Leib hakohen.
Between singing niggunim, the bochurim heard from Rabbi Krinsky about the history of the seforim case, the Didan Notzach, and the Rebbe’s reaction and involvement, with many unknown insights.
He also related the background of the Rebbe’s directive to mint special coins for the Lag BaOmer parade of 5750, and how it was done against all odds.
He spoke with much passion about the concept of shlichus and shluchim, how they were cherished by the Rebbe and Rebbetzin, and their effect on the world.
“All who attended felt privileged to have this rare opportunity to hear Rabbi Krinsky,” one of the organizers told COLlive.com.
