The medical state of Rabbi Yaakov Katz, Rosh Yeshiva of Kfar Chabad in Israel, has miraculously improved to the surprise of his doctors, a family member told COLlive.
This past Thursday afternoon the elder rabbi visited the Assaf Harofe Medical Center near the Kfar Chabad village in Central Israel, where he was going through a planned operation on his large intestine.
A sudden complication rushed him to intensive care, where he was anesthetized and given artificial respiration.
His students, bochurim in the Kfar yeshiva and Anash around the world, said Tehillim for his speedy recovery. Bnei Brak-resident Rabbi Katz had led the yeshiva for the past 46 years, since 5723.
Late Thursday night his situation stabilized. On Friday morning he was reported donning Teffilin and davening.
Tonight, Motzoei Shabbos, a farbgengen was held in the yeshiva with the Mashgiach Rabbi Yaakov Goldshmid and 220 bochurim in attendance.
Rabbi Katz is expected back in Yeshiva for Rosh Chodesh Kislev.
Finally, some good news!
